Re: General Sky TV Discussion
Yeah, I've been following that thread. I'm looking forward to it
Sky gave us a free DRX890 a few weeks ago, to replace our old Thomson box. Finally set it up last night (had to wait for Mrs D to finish watching all her stored content). Got Anytime+ up and running... just waiting for iPad control now

There's plenty more to come Matt , as Beta Testers we've just had software version 53.70 delivered last night , your box is probably on 49.21 which is the minimum version needed for the iPad app. You'll soon receive an update in the coming months which will add the undelete feature to your planner and the catchup TV service is due around autumn I believe.

Re: General Sky TV Discussion
Nice
Is Sky still signing up Beta testers, or is it now closed?
I don't know what software version my box has. It came with the old EPG but I forced an update during the self set-up. I'd assume it's now on the latest public release?

It's in settings then system details (model number)
At the minute I believe it's closed , your box is a DRX 890 if it's a Sky+HD the DRX895 is the 1TB and the DRX595 is the non PVR.

Re: General Sky TV Discussion
Yes tried it , works really well with plenty more to come
When selecting a show in the TV guide on the iPad you get the option to watch on TV presumably a watch on iPad will come at some point also.

Re: General Sky TV Discussion
I gave it a go last night - very impressed!
Planner access: Look to see what has been recorded and what has been set to record, plus you can select existing recordings and choose to watch them (on TV), etc.
Guide: Full Guide, as before, but in addition to Remote Record you can now also set a record straight away via the local network connection... plus you can pick something in the Guide to actually watch and it will change channels for you.
Remote control: Pause/Play, Fast-forward, Rewind, Channel Up/Down.
All it needs is power on/off plus Anytime+ and you could ditch the IR remote completely! The ability to watch on the iPad itself would be a brilliant addition, if that does come at some point.
This app will be very handy. e.g. if I'm watching something and Mrs D needs to check the Planner to set a recording or delete something I don't have to stop watching my programme as she can do it all via the iPad. It could even be used like one of those remote sender things, to control the box while watching the bedroom RF feed.

Re: General Sky TV Discussion
I agree with all those points Matt , the app is excellent with tons more features to be added , I have multiroom and can now access both my boxes from one login which makes scheduling recordings a breeze whilst being able to view what's been recorded on both planners , all in all very happy.
Digitalspy now have a demo video on their site
