Re: TiVo
£149 and £40 is what i was expecting for existing. customers. although I'm kinda hoping the £3 monthly fee will be waived for VIP customers.

Who knows on that one, only they do. Obviously it will be existing customers first and I would imagine VIPs probably getting the first crack of the whip, cascading from thereon until they finally make it available for all and sundry. Of course until some form of official annoucement this thread will grow and grow, with some occasional watering of course.

That's fair actually.
I do have one question actually. I have a V+ box downstairs and the VHD box in the bedroom. When Tivo is released, am I able to keep all my boxes and have the VHD box installed in another bedroom? obviously there are costs involved in that. Would anyone be able to shed some light on the potential costs of that?

Re: TiVo
well so far no V.M staff had said any of this is incorrect.
Quote:
I have just been speaking to a VM installer this morning,my V+HD STB had packed up again, he said he was on a tivo course the other day and was told the main rollout will not be until june!!
However he did say that VM are trying to "rush-out" (his words), Tivo to 6000 existing VM customers!!
The price he was told will be £99 for existing VM customers and £199 for non-VM`ers, but no word on monthly or VIP pricing.
He also said that there will be two units , one with a 320 GB capacity with sum of the functions disabled and the "big daddy" 1TB with the full premium Tivo service.
It takes 20 minutes to download all of the software at the initail setup of the Tivo. The time is so long he said because the download is coming from the Tivo servers in america!!

Amazing, a brief training course and the tech thinks he's the oracle of the matrix. CS and Techs are reknowned for being the fountain of misinformation, the best of the former able to stick the star highest on the notice board, so I would take his worldly TiVo facts with just a hint of pessimism

Some of them that post here are helpful indeed and knowledgeable to boot, but that isn't the general rule of thumb.
As I'm no install tech who drives around in a van with some funky hearts on, answer to the latter would be no
