Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
The Cisse situation is awful now, He's asked for a better contract at the same time as refusing to wear the shirt, you can bet your life he's using the latter to his advantage. Basically Cisse is refusing to play in the new shirt but may re-consider should he get paid more. Brilliant.
Interest from Anzhi in Russia, they'd happily pay an inflated £20+ million free, see you later Cisse.
Loic Remy and Bent will likely come in for about £13 million total. I'm not going to complain if this comes to light. We also need to remember we have very good academy players coming through, Haris Vuckic was not so long ago touted as the next breakthrough striker and he looked like making the first team last year had he not got injured for the season. The lad has a vicious left foot from what I and the opponents crossbars usually see, work on his accuracy and you might have something, unfortunately there's rumours we're merely holding onto him for a big Italian side. Adam Campbell looks promising too.

He's repeatedly asked for an improved contract during this row, bit strange imo.

Wenger on Fab...
Quote:
"Fábregas has decided to stay one more year at Barcelona," Wenger said, after Arsenal's 7-1 win over a Vietnam XI in Hanoi. "Unless he has changed his mind, I don't know … but that's what I've been told. We have the clause in the contract so we would be on alert but at the moment that's not something we're after."

Interesting, 1 more year so Fabregas is unsettled. Also good to read Arsenal are on 'alert'
Wenger on Verms Injury
Quote:
Thomas Vermaelen would be out for "two months at least" with a stress fracture to the back
|
I bet he doesnt sign a defender
Wenger on Rooney
Quote:
"It happened to us, It can happen to them. We have not the problem of the wages of Wayne Rooney but it's very difficult for us to talk about any specific case. We work well but we are not close to sign anybody. The competition in Europe is very hard at the moment. There's a lot of money and not many players."
|
ye great. dont sign anyone at all! total waste of time!

Dortmund have been rocked by news of an injury to summer signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan. The Armenia international faces around four weeks on the sidelines after suffering a partial tear to ligaments in his right ankle.

Oh there nothing like the daily dose of Arsenal news as their poor old supporters have not had much to shout about so far.

Honestly is this really a case of the quality not being available? or are available but not at the right price?

Explains Suarez however. Madrid want to fund his purchases via Higuain's sale but we're thinking why don't we just buy Suarez ourselves?

Yup. RM have a nerve to ask nearly 40odd m for a player who they have hardly treated well, a player who is unsettled, a player who wants out for regular football.

If Ornstein is right about Arsenal wanting players in 3 positions then they are all looking to go to the final day. DM, AM and CF. Everyone Arsenal are linked with, the quality that is will cost amounts that will smash the clubs transfer record.

What Arsenal want and what they will actually do may be quite far apart. I think they can't close deals, literally incompetent.
