There are rumours that MB has crystal balls, and that is how he knows all.
I will take that all in good faith (as I'm not going to check if they are crystal )

My insiders told me at 3.30pm today that 'no new updates'.
Media Boy brand is 7 - not it owner.

BT Sports are rumours as Testing on Virgin Media right now - been testing over an week.
Channel 5 HD deal was signed the day before it was added on it launch day.
My own view is the BT Sports deal being signed is one big lie.
|
I also don't think its been signed BUT playing devils advocate what if an agreement was unofficially put in place where BT sports would launch on virgin media on Friday giving BT maximum amount of time to try and get new subscribers over.
virgin agreed to it as they got a good deal for the channel at a good price. BT agreed and started an aggressive advertisement campaign stating it wasn't coming to virgin media to get subscribers to its new service.
they haven't announced it to the stock markets as it hasn't officially been signed its all wink wink hush hush lol lol sort of thing.
I don't think this will happen but it would match up with some of the random rumours which have been started and I refer to the legendary BomberAF (RIP) when I say this.
If I was BT sport and had made this secret deal i'd leave it to the last possible day before the premier league started to get the panicking football nuts to leave VM for BT
Just a theory. And i'm still very pessimistic about it launching.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 4.
Jammie is right, although Rooney was onside but Scotland the better side for much of that half. Now level I expect England to go on and win from here. So perhaps BT Sport isn't coming after all!!!
Back on topic I have always been impressed with how easily MB can recall channel launch dates and the circumstances surrounding them. I would suggest that nobody has more experience to draw on than he when it comes to this sort of thing, and so sure does he seem that he doesn't think this is happening, that I am myself starting to have doubts.

I posted in this thread the comments that Liberty Global boss Mike Fries made about BT sports when Liberty/VM had their Q2 results webcast last week. I don't think anyone saw the post/was paying attention to it.
Basically, when Fries and the Liberty board was in London a few weeks ago, he said his whole time was pretty much spent dealing with the BT sports issue. He invited the BT and Sky bosses to meet the new VM and Liberty managment team. They had a chat, but they came to no agreement over sports rights.
Fries thinks eventually BT will need to wholesale its channels to VM to recoup some of its costs, but in the short term BT have made it clear that this is not going to happen at the price VM want to pay.
That's from the horses mouth. The webcast is on Liberty's site and anyone can listen to it. Perhaps the situation has changed since then, but I doubt it.

Well, being pendantic, Childs isnt a commentator But then, ITV labelling the awful Clive Tyldesley as a commentator surely breaks the trades description act....but then again, i think that of most commentators, apart from Martin Tyler and the very excellent Steve Bower, freelancing I believe, but used by BBC but not enough. Sky should offer him a contract as back up to Martin.
..and to keep me on thread.. Media Boy's contribution is fantastic. I always head to his post first, to check on any updates.
