That's an excellent book, imho - and there are a couple more in the series.

If you like that, and Star Trek, may I strongly recommend the same author's "Redshirts"?

			Jonathan Kellerman - Guilt

A series of horrifying events occur in quick succession in the same upscale
L.A. neighborhood. A backyard renovation unearths an infant's body, buried
sixty years ago. And soon thereafter in a nearby park, another disturbingly
bizarre discovery is made not far from the body of a young woman shot in the
head. Helping LAPD homicide detective Milo Sturgis to link these eerie
incidents is brilliant psychologist Alex Delaware. But even the good doctor's
vast experience with matters both clinical and criminal might not be enough to
cut down to the bone of this chilling case-and draw out the disturbing truth.

I like a change to my usual diet of SF now and then. Is proving a good read so far.

Crown of Thorns by Ian Irvine.

Basically a race to clone Jesus Christ. Not as far-fetched as it sounds and so far it's been amazing. Even atheists and staunch science lovers would probably enjoy it. The first book is currently free on Amazon for Kindle.

Nearing the finish of Kevin J Anderson - Hellhole 02 - Hellhole Awakening.

SF with just a tiny bit of Fantasy which is as much I can stomach.

Quite enjoyable though.
