I did end up walking to work. Only problem was the heavy coat and boots were in the car. There is numpty me out there in 8" of snow in my slippers, shovelling snow off the boot so I could retrieve the kit. Then I remembered I'd brought the boots indoors some three weeks earlier |

Well, in my area, it looks like the panic buying has started. Just been to my local Sainsburys and it's full to the rafters with customers and things like bottled water and milk appear to be running out (although in all fairness, it's possible their daily delivery didn't turn up.

It's sort of coming and going here. One minute the snow's falling thickly, the next the sun's out.
It's settling everywhere but the road so getting to and from places isn't too bad. It's going to be chaos tomorrow when everything freezes though |

Me and my brother used to use the sledge. That was only about 20 or so years ago too.

We found out later that one of his classmates was kept home 'because of the bad weather and the roads'. Except that we have to drive twice as far as his mother does to get to school, and we drive past his front door. I think for some people it's an excuse for a day off, or just to not go out, as nobody ever seems to question you when you say you're snowed in.

We had a dusting overnight and it has snowed on and off all day, but the weather is mostly sunny and it's thawing faster than its falling.
