Although ( tbh I am a cynical sky employee!) it will probably rise in December after the line rental has increased, but I would imagine this will be the same for Virgin!

More info which you may not know:

Did you know that Sky are putting the boxset Library of the anytime+ content inside the premium HD pack at the end of May 2013?

This will surely annoy a lot of Virgin customers with the associated cut in content or increase in content price.
Does that mean sky customers will have to add HD at10 quid to access it as well

Are you sure about that , I was told Box Sets would be included in the Entertainment + pack , the Entertainment would receive catchup and have access to PPV movies.

Re: The price of your Virgin Media service is going up

Wow, we've only just had our Virgin services installed a couple of weeks ago.

We switched from Sky/BT Infinity and have 60Mb BB, M+ TV and a phone line, is this increase to affect me as well?

For those parts of your service that may be on a fixed term offer, they won't see an increase until the offer has ended.

For those parts not on offer, they will increase on 1st Feb 2013

Great value for money eh? Not when you compare their broadband to the likes of sky or BT.

Did he say line rental? No. He said broadband.

BT's broadband prices are staying exactly the same. So are Sky's.

For which you need a land-line; even for their Infinity service. At least, that's what you told me recently.

So to correctly compare the two you have to include a VM landline in any price comparison.

Re: The price of your Virgin Media service is going up

as for vm price increase, i did a compare on sky website it worked out about £15 more expensive and just got off the phone with sky and they still couldnt match in price what services i got with vm even with vm price increse, iam not sticking up for vm or having a go at sky they both have there good and bad points, i know sky got more channels, more hd etc, the point is have a look around at other providers.

Re: The price of your Virgin Media service is going up

I too have just done a comparison and, this time, the prices have actually come out very nearly the same.

On the one hand, Sky has more HD channels but a slower broadband speed (only <10mb compared to VM's 30mb) but, of course, VM has Tivo which, for me, is the deal-breaker!

The other point being, of course, that I'm not actually paying the VM price listed; though only around a tenner less; which is a little annoying

You're paying £10 less, or £10 more?
