Very true if you want to leave then leave. I think that they should do the same as Orange and offer customers 10% If they decided to stay with them and then everybody would know what to expect. IMHO

Re: Anyone received a offer from Virgin regarding the 500gb box
everthing is Tivo or 3d, its just that a lot of people cant afford this due to current climate, so think it would be nice if VM just pushed something towards other VM customers ( dont know what tho lol )

I believe that if you threaten to leave then they should let you as the subscribers should not have to pay for your greed, if you want the same services as another customer then you should pay to receive them, no Ifs and no Buts.

What else have they got at their disposal, in order to get a better deal whether it be Gas , Electricity, or Tv you have got to tell the company some hard facts about pricing and if they are not prepared to budge then you leave but on a personal level l will not be leaving Virgin in which l have been with for 12 years even though l am a bit unhappy with certain things.

That's a rather simplistic viewpoint & I think it is rather insulting to accuse anyone of being greedy if they decide to attempt to negotiate a better deal especially as the Virgin Media web site actually encourages existing customers to do so ! I can't understand why anyone would not look to drive down costs in the current financial climate.

And l agree with you in this current severe financial climate some customers have no choice.

Sorry if you cannot afford it do not buy it and if you say well I will leave then your bluff should be called as other customers should not have to subsidise you.

l think your view on this is very simplistic and very narrow and l disagree totally with you but then again we never agree much anyway as you always seem to have your bias hat on.

Everyone always goes for a better deal. I for one will try and haggle for things. Be it a house, a car, or a better deal with a provider. Thankfully we live in a society of competition which allows us to do this and this should be the way it is.
My folks live in France. They have a choice of France Telecom for internet/phone or Orange (owned by France Telecom). They pay around £50 a month for a 5mb internet connection and landline service. Because of the lack of competition the prices remain high and if they receive poor service they never get a quick response for a fix.
Thankfully, we have many providers who frequently compete to keep new customers and pull new customers away from other providers. It is a customers right to try and do better on price to keep a competitive market going. If a customer wants to haggle for a better deal then they should do, although being realistic with it is always a good idea!

Re: Anyone received a offer from Virgin regarding the 500gb box
Don't agree, agree with Masque on this issue. If a customer wants to try and get VM to drop an install charge them fine they can ask, equally VM can go and tell the customer to sod off and pay like everybody else is and I support that approach! I'm not subsidising other customers, the offer is available to all or none IMHO and if you wanted free install, should have ordered the 1TB version before the end of April.
If a customer could buy Tivo elsewhere then fine that is genuine competition, wouldn't have an issue then if Sky took on Tivo say (never I know but just an example) and a customer can get best value across competitors. Can follow this logic for BB so not saying for all products, but if somebody wants Tivo, then VMs offer of £49 plus £40 install is a good deal or negotiate a V+ without install if you want.
