Re: The Euro 2008 thread
WW3 about to start on BBC1.
A gem from Stubbsy: "There's a bit of rivalry between these two countries..." (Germany v Poland).
Kudos to Lineker for having the guts to say the old joke: "If this were a game of scrabble, Poland would win easily"

Germany look a bit tasty.
It looks ominous for the rest.

Van Persie is not ruled out for the Italy game though.
Germany looked alright, if a bit weak at the back. Croatia were disappointing imo (apart from a half hour spell). Austria were unlucky to not get a draw. I've not written off Poland yet. I can see them beating Croatia, and Croatia will struggle against Germany.

Re: The Euro 2008 thread
I'm looking forward to tonights matches, the first matches in the tournament that could go either way and not have an obvious favourite. I think Romania will cause an upset and beat the French and then Italy will beat the Dutch

Certainly looks ominous for the Poles. They sent out a search party for Smolarek at half time and found nothing. Rumour has it he may have been on his way back to Rotterdam for coffee and cakes

Re: The Euro 2008 thread
I really hope the Italy v Holland match is more exciting than the French match, very dull and boring from the French, showed nothing to make me feel they will get through that group.

Re: The Euro 2008 thread
For the sake of football, I really hope I've just seen the two losers of that group.
France v Romania truly awful.
