But if you get Chelsea with say a 20 point lead at some stage of the season i.e have effectively won the league, but not officially then you will get loads of people putting money on a dead cert (which could cost them a lot). Hence by paying out early they avoid this.

Re: The Football Thread 2005/2006 Season
abit worried about Keano leaving.. if it's true and sounds like he won't be there next season I wonder how many games he will get now.. we have already changed our style of play to suit him getting older and with him not there next season makes more sense to bring someone else, Smith ?, into the role early
He will always be a legend and even though i hate saying it, he can't perform at his old level any more

If United offer him another 12 month contract sooner rather than later, he will take it, if they don't, he will make other arrangements playing for a club from another country (probably Celtic) although he never mentioned them last night.
Coaching was also mentioned, but Keane feels he is not ready for that yet, although he has earned two badges, playing at another club would probably help him in that area, he also mentioned that he has picked up some good pointers while playing under two of the best managers there has been, Clough and Ferguson.
His time is almost up, maybe it is already up, but I am not sure United can afford to let him go just yet, United seem to perform better when he is on the pitch.

When you say that, do you mean that Cableforum sponsors those teams?

We're gonna lose. Tranmere are on a **** run and we're famed for our generosity in ending **** runs.

Well, I think that due to the diversity of the forum, SDA might as well just post this link
