The NAS is used as a backup medium for local business' that need somewhere to store their backups. I started the company in 1999, with about 200gb of storage, now it has got to where it is today.

Perhaps one day I will build myself a little storage rack

Spiderplant posted that list on the 26th and being in MK45 4** (Barton-Le-Clay but on the Flit1 UBR) I can confirm that the website allows me to choose the 50Mb option

Re: 50Mb areas

The website claims I can get 50Mb in Nottingham, I'm pretty sure it's not upgraded here yet though.

Re: 50Mb areas

Had the 50mb installed at 1pm today in the Neath area. I'm the first in the area to get it , first time the engineer has installed 50mb as well.

Install was quick, had a small issue where it connected first time then the modem rebooted but after about 25mins I had a nice stable connection. The speed is brilliant, easily average 50mb down and 1.65 up.

The Microsoft website seems the best for speed testing, downloaded the 348mb Vista SP2 file at full speed in 50secs

Perhaps it is being launched this week. If the postcode checker says yes, get on the phone.

Just had the 50meg install done, no problems so far, long may it continue.

Was told I was the first in the area to get it as well.

Not quite it's 46. You're getting ripped off paying that for 20 if it's just M phone you've got.

Zhadnost,

Forgive my confusion, but when I check nslookup for cmts there are three new ones called heme-cmts-09 through 11. I must be somewhere on heme-cmts-01 through 08 surely?

So hem17 is a different representation of my cmts to the nslookup result I am guessing.

Do I basically look for a change from hem17 to something else to tell that I am on a DOCSIS 3.0 capable CMTS or is it more complicated?

Re: 50Mb areas

It looks like hem17 maybe a typo in your hostname.

It looks like you are on heme-cmts-07-ge01.network.virginmedia.net. (don't know if that's related to heme-cmts-07.network.virginmedia.net)

If it changes to something else, it could mean that your modem has synced to another channel (that still doesn't mean it's ready).

The only way to really know is to use the postcode checker.
