Anyone who is having problems since the upgrade, have a look in here - http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/sh...ad.php?t=25571 (your problem may be more likely to be noticed by someone there)

I have also tried this on 3 different PC's now so I am sure it's not my system, but NTL tech support think everything at thier end is OK.
I understand that NTL supply "up to 300 kilobits" but it is rare I hit over 100 and then it's like the connection just drops.
Thanks in advance.

Although my upload has been fine, the only place where I've been getting 100+ speeds consistantly is my own homepage.ntlworld.com webspace. I'm on 2mb
I applied this:
http://www.speedguide.net/files/TCPOptimizer.exe
and I think there's an improvement. gotta do some more tests

If you want to discuss ntl vs BT etc., you could create a new thread, best place is probably here: http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/forumdisplay.php?f=63
* Well, OK, unless you're asking who now has the fastest speeds out of ntl & other ISPs, in which case ask away.

My goodness you are a very cheeky boy!! Of course I'm asking who has the better speed. So who is the best? And don't be so quick to tell people off in future, theres a good chap.

He was not 'telling you off' - he was advising you, that should you want to discuss which is better you have the option of starting a new thread, there is a differance. I hope you have now realised this, there, that's a good chap.

No idea, but I'd have thought that it would have been done by now.
Do you have a...non-standard....tariff in any way? e.g. the XBox/PS2 two IP service, or Broadband Plus? If so, perhaps that's why the online upgrade isn't working [I've seen posts by other people with those extras, who've had to phone as the online upgrade won't work for them]
I'd just phone CS if I were you, otherwise you could be waiting even longer.

Hi all,
Does anyone know when the Cosham area will get the speed upgrade ?
I'm on the 1.5mb via STB and wonder when I will get 3Mb.
Thanks.

Hi,
I thought that my existing 1.5Mb, with STB, would go to 3Mb without any intervention by myself.
Do I have to apply online then ?
Thanks for any advice.
Phil.

It will.. but you will need to wait for NTL to do it. Using the link you can do it yourself right now.
P.S 3Mb rocks!
