Re: Upgrade from 2 - 10 meg
hansi click on the connection tab(at the top of this page) and post evertything except the custxxx bit, then i am sure someone on the same hub will be able to ell you if they have been upgraded yet. <-Damn keyboard toner's running out again.
If they have been upgraded it is possible there is a fault on your account and the easiest way to resolve this is via the newsgroup as you will probably get more joy than phoning them. You can do this by setting a newsgroup account up in a programme such as windows live mail. The account setting you need is news.virginmedia.com and then subscribe to virginmedia.support.broadband.cable

Re: Upgrade from 2 - 10 meg
Oh ... what a disappointment!! I thought I might have been upgraded today!!
I signed on this morning and everything was working normally, then I couldn't find any internet pages ... so started getting excited.... I'm being upgraded .... whooo whooo!!!
Rebooted and checked my speeds --- the same as before!!!!!!!
Boo ho .... one disappointed girl here!!!
Hey ho ... wait for another day!!
The list of places to upgrade is getting smaller and smaller

Re: Upgrade from 2 - 10 meg
Haven't been notified but assume i am now on 10mb but only getting between 3.5 and 5.8 depending on which speedtest i try. Just posted this in the newsfeed and noticed someone else is getting a new modem. Mine is the old ntl: 200 so hope they will give me a new one as well.

I should have said XP or Vista, the download hasn't decreased it, it has just decreased itself. Looks like you need a new modem to me.

Re: Upgrade from 2 - 10 meg
Thank you for that. I have just rung broadband support and they confirmed that my modem can't handle 10mb's. Why didn't they tell me that yesterday when I rang them Anyway, they're sending me a new modem. Are there any particular anomalies to oook out for when setting a new modem up? And thanks to everyone for their help on this.
