Radeon is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: 50Mb areas

I live near Neath and ordered the 50mb the day Neath was enabled (11th June), have to wait until the 29th June for an engineer to install it , an 18 day wait is a bit much for a few minutes work that I could do in 2mins. The power levels where I live have always perfect and I have always been able to max out my connection on the top tier service in the seven years I have used NTL/Virgin.

Won't be long now though

Ho hum. We of the great unwashed of Hemel Hempstead hold up our modems for another week and say forlornly, "more please, sir", but to no avail.

I was just checking this thread as I do each day, then I noticed that my area was on the list! I checked the 50mbit postcode checker and sure enough I can get it. Orderd it and should be installed next week. \o/

LOL

Im actually beginning to think that Hemel Hempstead may be last.

I reckon Uniplan and I are the only ones that are actually going to order it.

Either the demand is small in our area or its a Virgin Media conspiracy and they are worried that Uni and I are going to try and download the whole Internetz in a month

You aren't referring to saturating the 50Mbit 24/7 are you? I hope not, I quite like not having STM on my service thanks and people downloading the Internet not because they actually want the stuff but just because they can will give VM a much stronger case to stitch the rest of us up.

I'm on the VIP package. How much extra is it to upgrade to the 50MB broadband?

Probably £10 a month (excluding installation which some people have said they got away with others haven't)

That would be 500gb a day, would cost alot in HDD to keep that up, so personally I don't think i will be..

I did wonder after reading your signature.

I'm just suffering bandwidth envy, thanks to Virgin's superb network maintenance I'm presently enjoying 26kbps GPRS.
