Re: The Football Thread 2005/2006 Season
Question for nffc !!!! or anyone else for that matter....
My mate, the one who is a Forest fan, seems to think that there has been six transfers from Forest to MUFC since around 1980, I can only think of five, I wondered if you could help ?
The transfers I can think of are as follows;
Keane
Birtles
Davenport
Webb
Anderson
I am sure all the above are correct, but I cannot think of a sixth

Re: The Football Thread 2005/2006 Season
more strange comments from Sven.. he said we played 4-5-1 again N. Ireland because some of the players weren't 100% fit.. assuming he is talking about the midfield here where we have enough quality that we can play players who are 100 fit..
i'm sure if we got the WC final and Becks, Lampard and Gerrard had broken legs they would still start on crutches
surely on 5m a year he can pick a team that is fit with a formation to suit not change the formation so you can play with unfit people!!
Also it's been noted that when Sven goes to a game he never makes any notes and barely even seems to take any notice of the match, before leaving 10 mins early to make sure he avoids the traffic

It's certainlythe case with Beckham. How many mediocre games he has to have before being dropped I don't know... actually that's not a question, as Sven will NEVER drop him.
Oh how I long for a coach with real balls... look at what Clive Woodward achieved by dropping guys like Lawrence Dallaglio.

Re: The Football Thread 2005/2006 Season
think we will have to wait till after the WC for that
surely the FA should look at these comments and say why were we playing with people who weren't 100% fit it's not like there are only 11 footballers in England!!
Sven will never drop anyone which is why he still has the backing of the team no matter how bad they play they won't get dropped... even when he gives a cap to someone who is rubbish if their face fits and they say the right things Sven will keep picking them Hargreaves and Phil Neville being two good examples

Nah - all you need is a chairman who refuses to open his wallet
Villa are still fairly well-off money-wise, 'cos good old Doug never spendsa anything. Crap in the league like, but well-off
