Really, I think you can count on the fingers of one hand the number of people who subscribe to Premier Sports that don't also subscribe to Sky and/or BT

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news
Looking at the Eleven Sports situation I think it would be best if they launched a channel on Sky/Virgin and offered some niche football. For example
Brazilian League
Russian League
Argentinian League
Belgium League
At least that way you gradually build a portfolio like Premier Sports did 10 years ago. I doubt the cost for the above leagues would cost that much and they could probably survive on the advertising costs.

How many actually want to watch those leagues , very few I'd say.

The demand for them would not be great but if I remember rightly Premier Sports launched with some of those leagues plus the National League and Irish League.
It would be better than the approach they took last season, at least that way you can put your toe in the water and see where it takes you from there

Really odd that eleven sports website. they have minute highlights of french and german games by the look of it. They still brag in the title of the website about la liga but no mention of it. They also have a help page on how to subscribe.... odd

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news
An interesting article here on OTT sports coverage. Note the biggest threat to existing pay tv operators in terms of sport is Amazon, as we thought.
https://www.tvbeurope.com/features/c...tv-opportunity
...The biggest challenges they are likely to face are from Amazon, should it decide to prioritise tier-one sports rights in key markets, or major sports broadcasters such as ESPN reserving their key rights for their direct-to-consumer service...

It certainly doesn't change anything, Den. Amazon remains the most tipped streamer to bid for the next Premiership rights.

ITV could bring Champions League back to terrestrial TV.

Uefa sent the tender for the 2021-24 rights to interested broadcasters in the UK this week, and it is understood both ITV and Sky are poised to mount a serious challenge to BT Sport which holds the exclusive rights at the moment.

Quote:
The Times also reports the tender document includes rights for the Europa League, and the new third-tier tournament, the Europa Conference League. The winner of next season's Carabao Cup will be England's representative in the new competition.

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news
Let's hope not - ITV should not be allowed live sport - especially football.
Anybody but ITV
