Re: Football Season 2012/2013
Each season some tin-pot cheeky young whipper-snapper team finds itself overachieving within the top 3 of the Premiership at the start but always burns out around October/November.
I'm pretty sure Swansea qualify for this year but even if we do blow it in the next few months, we'll be known around the world as a team which if only for a few hours, has been at the top of the Premier League
Cardiff who??

Large? Div3 grounds don't accomodate large away supports.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
Apparently, Modric is going to Real Madrid for £33m and Shaktar (sp?) Donetsk have rejected an offer from Tottenham for Willian.

Tottenham submit bid for Yann M'Vila from Rennes.

Looks like Arsenal have missed out on another good player it seems.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
Apparently Arsenal haven't been interested since they broke off contact earlier this summer..Spurs always seem to chase the players Arsenal are after. They have Sandro so why they need M'Vila is weird.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
There's little interest in M'Vila
Arsenal & Newcastle were both reportedly interested early window but both seem to be pursuing other targets.
Newcastle set to make a take it or leave it offer for Debuchy with a lot of talk about one final move for Andy Carroll too, £17 million.
Still no sign of this CB or ST really though if we don't land Carroll.
Keep an eye on the young Adam Campbell, Youth striker.

M'Vila is a weird situation. I thought there would be plenty of interest but it seems like Everton and Spurs are what is left...

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
Tottenham want M'Vila to replace Modric. It kind of makes me laugh to be honest. And not just that but the incredible world beater hype to dire status. We'll see what happens.
Arsenal still need signings. I hope outgoing transfers can be tied up asap, there going on forever!

But M'Vila isn't a Modric type player. This is what's so weird about the situation. He isn't a creative playmaker ala Modric. He is a defensive midfielder/midfielder who is much more akin to Sandro.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
exactly. M'Vila did however do something similar to Song where he had to push up because things around him wasn't all well but unlike Song M'Vila is and will be a holder not a AM or even CM.

Last year it was Wolves riding high at the top of the Premier league after the first few games, the year before it was Blackpool
I see a pattern emerging here

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
It happens every year really. Always a traditionally mid-table team does it. To be honest as long as we don't do a Blackpool and end up relegated I'll be happy - that'll mean another season of frustrating the Cardiff fans

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
Apparently Theo Walcott has rejected a contract from Arsenal and wants to leave...
*waits for arsenal fans to say he's not that good and injury prone*

Just another in a increasingly long list of players who have become increasingly unhappy with the way the club is going in selling its best players.

Depends how you define 'that good'. I would be sad to see him go but we have Chamberlain so I don't think we'll be in a rush to replace him. Still think it shouldn't change our plans for next season, we need a defensive midfielder and a attacker.

Arsenal are in a perpetual state of crisis whilst Liverpool and Spurs are in a perpetual state of optimism and rebirth. I'll take the former as long as we continue to be in the Champions League.
It seems that Walcott wanted just over 100k a week so he was always likely to go. Arsenal aren't going to pay 100k a week. Man City will. Liverpool probably will.
