No. But they think they are. Hughes managed to take the team mid-table last year, so they chucked even more money at it and now have had a (small) bad spell. I don't think his job is safe, they could chuck money at almost any manager. I don't think the new owners want to wait, they will get rid of Hughes if they can get a bigger name. Serves him right for getting cocky about a manager who actually has talent, Sir Alex Ferguson.
Unless they recover I predict another massive spending spree in Jan.

Well done Northwich Victoria, managed a big scalp to a team more than 70 places above them in the league system!

let's face it, Drogba deserves every kick he ever gets from anyone.
No doubt SAF will still be sticking to his story that the squad is strong, we don't need to spend to replace Ronnie etc.
The man is losing his marbles and is too stubborn to admit we're weakened.
Perhaps in january bring in a proven and consistent striker, drop donkey back to an attacking midfield position (rather than sell him and be a man down for the CL - wait til the summer before offloading him) so we don't need to be relying on the old guard of Scoles and Giggs so much and look around for a more youthful keeper. VDS didn't so too badly but his successor needs to be found sooner rather than later.

The standard of refereeing in this country has gone down hill big time, that match was proof if we ever needed it.

United did get conned. Wanted a draw personally. Chelsea winning was the worst result from a Arsenal perspective. Still 2nd with a game in hand is not to be sneezed at.

Really struggling to beat Refs this season! Looked like Rooney refused to shake his hand at the end, good, sick of this shaking hands for the sake of it. The Ref was rubbish and it's about time something was done about them. Not like they were difficult decisions he got wrong.
The ECL is a joke because the Refs kill it, I lost interest in it years back, Prem is going the same way. You may as well roll a dice and just not play, cos your performance counts for nothing at times.

To be fair on them, we outplayed Chelsea today, and bar incompetent officials would have taken three points.

John Terry, bad looser, worse winner.

The Terry family: mum shoplifting (is the court injunction still on? -no reporting) and dad cocaine dealing. What the hell...

Re: Football : Season 2009/2010
I think the Utd-Chelsea game could have gone either way. As usual when these 2 meet it is a battle of the defences and i thought both teams held there shape and defended exceptionally well as a team (maybe Mark Hughes needs to try this).
The goalies didn`t really have to make any saves that where not standard, as most of the shooting was done from 25yards plus.
It looked to me that Chelsea where doing to Man U exactly what Man U have been doing to Barcelona recently, that is letting them have the ball up to a certain point and then closing down the space. Then try and get a goal on the break or from a set play.
Even though there wasn`t that much goal mouth action it was a good showing of the reason these 2 teams are a class above everyone else, with Arsenal closing in fast.
City get a must try harder and blinkingwell concentrate when the opponents have the ball

Not really.
I get the feeling if Drogba, or any other dirty foreigner had made such a "tackle" on a British player, let alone English (God forbid), he'd be castigated. The fact Drogba got booked says it all.
While i'm on the subject, where's the outcry regarding Darren Bent's blatant dive and attempt to get Gomes sent off yesterday?

Re: Football : Season 2009/2010
Is Bent known for cheating and being one of the most prolific divers in the premiership?

Re: Football : Season 2009/2010
The crazy thing with the Bent incident was he had a stonewaller in the first half and didn`t get it, then he falls over like a big jessy to earn a pen, only to subsequently miss it!
You couldn`t make it up
