Hmm, that'd be as easy as 1, 2, 3! (hundred that is ). Although to be fair, it's now getting towards speeds that most general consumers don't really care about and will see little difference.
I've never had a problem with VM to date but I read on here about many areas with over utilisation, etc. I think they'd be better off working towards getting everyone a much more reliable and stable connections than pressing ahead with more willy waving of headline speeds.

The speeds we have now, i would say most people would be happy with unless they want alot more upload or they're those e-penis types.

Re: Virgin Media 70, 150 & 200 Mb Upgrades
The speeds we had a year or two ago I would say most people would be happy with. The fact that the vast majority of customers are on the L package I think is proof of this.
I agree I can see the tiers going to 100/200/300 and I expect after that Virgin will stick with doubling of speeds, since G.Fast is going to be eventually doing ~500Mbit, Virgin will almost certainly want 600 or above.

They now include VM Ireland customers in that statistic, so it's skewed in favour of higher tiers but even at that about 2/3 of customers are on less than 100Mbit (i.e. L or lower).

It'd be nice to see them at least matching VDSL2 upload speeds before increase the downloads any further on residential packages

+1 to that. Or at the very least, putting a little more effort into staying ahead of congestion in given areas before it hits again. On both legacy and Tivo broadband.

Re: Virgin Media 70, 150 & 200 Mb Upgrades
When I was last with VM i was on the 50Mb service and after a rocky start with quick resolution, never had a problem. 50Mb was more than enough for my needs.
Now though I know my area is suffering severe congestion so I wouldn't be a happy chappie if I was still with them.
IMHO better to increase available bandwidth for existing customers at present speeds and forget willy waving headline speeds (at least until congestion problems have been resolved and a degree of resiliance built in).
An upload increase would be most welcome too.

50meg was amazing when it first launched, it was the only DOCSIS3 service and hardly anyone had it, being the top tier.

Could not agree more!
My 50Mb service was still good when 100Mb was rolled out (with that god awful SH1 that got me banned from here for a while!).

Now I realise why I got banned. I used to refer to it as the ******hub and then when I went to SH after a warning or two the mod read my mind and knew what I meant.
No I won't say which mod.
