Forgot about BT and UPC having them, thanks mm.
It's not a Sky Europe channel, it's uniting all the European Sky broadcast platforms. Italy and Germany certainly have Sky. Any others?

Its a combined satellite business which will be in the UK , Germany and Italy rather than a channel.

Murdochs 21st Century Fox own 100% of Sky Italia and 57% of Sky Deutschland , BSKYB (UK) will buy these meaning 21st Century Fox will make a tidy sum leaving Mr Murdoch with his 39% (current BSKYB holding) in the then formed Sky Europe hope that makes sense.

Good summary, I would add that Murdoch does not own 21st Century Fox himself but he does own 40% of the voting shares. The company is listed in New York and like most listed companies most of its shareholders are financial institutions (pension funds, insurance companies, unit trusts etc). It's his large number of voting shares that gives the impression that it's his company.

Key thing is he's grown his companies and most have been very successful. Just being a shareholder himself in these companies would not guarantee success - he's used his management skills. Think about how Sky has grown over the years - this has been reflected elsewhere. He's made bold decisions with Sky and with his newspapers, eg by taking on and beating the print unions. We may not like all of his methods and politics but he's been undeniably good news for his shareholders - most of whom are pension funds and insurers.

Rumour: More HD Channels on way?

Sky sources has today told me that Viacom may launch up to FIVE HD Channels with HD Channels also launching for Yesterday, Gold, At The Races and ID.

No news on launch dates was given.

What has Viacom got to do with any of those channels? Gold HD has been rumored for a while ever since the launch of Alibi HD.

As for Tru TV they show the US version of Impractical Jokers. The UK version is one of the funniest shows on the TV so have high hopes they will show the US version on Tru TV UK.

I've not long finished a survey in which these channels where mentioned. Based on the questions I answered, I think there is certainly an element of truth to this rumour.

That's very much what I took from the survey......if it was the same one Seems SKY are more aware than ever that people don't want to pay for HD. They also seem very aware there's plenty of HD content elsewhere cheaper. Netflix was my answer to many of the questions.

You would be surprised bud,Netflix and the vastly improving amazon prime are starting to hit the pay tv market.Vm realised it quicker and did the deal and if a agreement can be reached prime will follow,I think it's only a matter of time before they pull the hd charge(think it's more of a case of having to bud)
