You'll get use to it if Arsenal don't become a 1 season winner. I know, we had to

Sorry mate, you play good football but your not a great team. A good team yes, but not great.
A great team successfully defends their title, they do something in europe.
And while yes Henry did very well tonight, it was against a very poor leeds side, where was he when it mattered?

Re: Football talk
Mal your points about us needing to retain the title i agree with but the others that have called arsenal cheats and just blasted them is stupid and pathitic, when arsenal lost last year i gave credit to united same with the fa cap. But United fans hhave called as cheats and lucky and bboring and so on. A coin was thrown at gray lewin during th cup game (btw spurs fans and chelsea fans do give us credit)
Arsenal have been amazing the football brilliant and it would be nice if people gave creddit instead of childish insults and trying to undermine arsenals progress

At the end of the day its about football, Great football is what we want to watch. I want to win titles but since when was a teams skill simply down to money and results.
And henry has been excellent before this match. He scored a hat-trick against liverpool last week remember? and scored a great goal against many teams. the goal from outside the area a few weeks ago? He is the toop scorer in the premership and nomited for players player of the year

Re: Football talk
Henry is a very good player, but he is not a Pele or a George Best, so he is not, and due to his less attractive attributes, will never be the greatest player ever.
And although Arsenal have played very good attacking football they have managed to score just one goal in three games against Man Utd this season.

Well you've got to see it from our point of view.
Everyone has had to put up Wenger being blind to the antics of certain Arsenal players, yet getting on his high horse over what other teams do.
I remember him in his first or second season there, having a go at Sir Fergie for asking for extra time at the end of the season to ease fixture congestion, then him saying exactlly the same thing the next when they won it in 1998.
Yes they have been good this year, but that's what we've been trying to say, but you've took umbrage (sp?).
As much as I hate Liverpool, they were a great team, as they went out and did it consistently and won a large amount of trophies. Though it's good to see where they are now. I couldn't give praise to the scousers without a having a pop

I don't doubt that, but as I've said before, when has it done it when it mattered, really mattered. Thats what makes a great player...
Best V Benfica
Keane V Juventis
Ronaldo V Germany
I'm too tired to think of anymore! I'm off to bed.

Re: Football talk
Let's put it like this: when Arsenal have managed to dominate a decade as United did through the 90s, then I'll start to take them seriously as a 'great' team.

Re: Football talk
Great should be detirmined by the quality of football. Thats what footballs about.
If Arsenal play like that all the time then I dont care what they win that performance was lovely to watch and for me is what football is about. Not the politics, not the money, nnot the comparing stats and teams.
Great football is all that matters

One other point worth considering, is that Pele and Best played at a time when defenders could actually tackle an opponent. There is no way that Henry would have scored the goal he did against Liverpool faced with Norman Hunter, Nobby Stiles, Ron (Chopper) Harris etc. As a former defender myself It irks me to see perfectly good, solid, hard tackles called as fouls.
PS. I cannot recall any time that Best, Pele or any other player I mentioned ever deliberately dived. And I include Van Nis in my list of divers as well.

Then again, I'd very much doubt those defenders would be able to deal with Arsenal's way of attacking at this present moment in time either

From that statement, it is obvious that you never saw, Norman (bites yer leg) Hunter, Nobby Stiles or Ron (Chopper) Harris play.
PS. United were rubbish today but I am still a happy bunny. Oldham Athletic beat Plymouth 4-1 and in the 3rd Div, Rochdale won whilst York & Carlisle lost.
