Even excluding fuels, we can't do with plastics. Just look around and see how they are everywhere and to a large extent can't easily(if at all) be replaced.

			That's true, oil and its derivatives do a lot more than just make fuel.
 Plastics have become more of an annoyance than a necessity, I long ago got fed up fighting with the plastic wrapping on items.
