Re: Should Virgin Media and Cable & Wireless Worldwide merge?
There are some people (like me), who don't have a professional knowledge of the system, and who will make posts in an open, sort of questioning way.
Then there are those who work in the industry, who have a very in depth knowledge.
Then there are the people who try to make out that they know what they are talking about, when they don't have a clue. And they end up making right muppet's of themselves (no offence muppetman).

The roll out of IPTV is expensive and does not provide the customer with much choice of channel because the bandwith is limited, that is the reason why Homechoice now TalkTalk TV hasn't expanded outside London much.
And as for Westminster, there isn't much choices because of the conservation rules and costs which is why Virgin Media pulled out of the Westminster area and due to BT of whom Virgin Media was leasing the Cable network from was not co-operating very much either.

What should we do about areas like Westminster?

It is up to the local council, they are the ones who impose a conservation rule of the area as well as not allowing aerials and dishes to be seen from street level.
Therefore BT Vision is not always an option for people.
There is nothing Virgin Media can do, BT own the cable network, let them deal with it.
