If that's not possible for some strange contractual reasons can we somehow have a filter on the EPG so we can filter out SD ?
Now we have BBC1 HD, BBC HD, ITV HD, C4HD and Five HD it really is a bit of a wind up expecting us to dig through the epg for them.

It will have Favourites as do all Vboxes so you put them in to their and when you press the button there they are.

Re: TiVo
Well, not that I know anything but I think you will be able to set your favourites the same as you can at the moment, but there is a feature of the mini guide where you can set it to only display your favourites or a set of channels, ie sport or children's. But if you flick up or down using the channel change buttons it will go to the next channel regardless.

3 out of 3 for using favourites then the easy and obvious solution which even my wife managed to work out on our V+ box.

Had 4 maybe 5 attempts to install/run them but they freeze/pixilate and then crash or don't record or reboot. Had 2 (maybe 3) repulls had some network bloke out to change stuff and in the end they told me to stick with the vhd box.
Really like the idea of a tivo tho

Re: TiVo
I just found out the VHD is not fully compatible with tivo afterall. A new box will be made so it can be connected via ethernet. This means you can watch whats on the tivo box on a regular box elsewere.

TiVo won't work for you then.
Did the engineer say why it can't be rectified for you? Are you far away from the service cab?

I was connected to something incorrectly originally which was a fair distance away and then they came and connected me to the thing outside my door and still no luck. They just gave up in the end without any reason

- view one channel as a picture-in-picture of another channel or the guide (which is just another video source anyway)

Those are all the easy bits, no matter however many tuners and decoders you've got. The difficult thing about multi-tuner PVRs is dealing with recording clashes. Three tuners are much harder than two.

It's not like there's oodles of spare memory to waste in some of the older boxes, so it's a bad thing in more than one way.

That's because Search is loaded off a server. It can't access the functions built into the EPG. The upside is all the memory can be freed once you've finished with Search.

Re: TiVo
Just out of curiousity do american tivo's have a 3rd tuner installed but not enabled or just two tuners, if 3 tuners do you think they will get an upgrade when we do, if only two tuners I'm surprised they dont upgrade to 3 as so called market leaders in the world of tv.

I do believe that it only has 2 tuners in the USA, but now that they have written a program for a box with 3 tuners they may add that to when they fetch a new box out
