I thought it was funnier that Liverpool had more Spanish players in their team then Madrid did...

Apparently there were 19 different nationalities starting in the Inter-United game.

No idea if that is correct but it the sad truth of the game these days that there is no real link between the local community and clubs any more.
I know the German lower leagues have to field about 8 German players but the EU won't allow such a rule at the elite level

Except the entire basis of Inter's founding, over 100 years ago, was the idea of having foreign players as opposed to the Italian dominated AC Milan. Hence the name; Internazionale. So it's actually the other way around.
Complaining about foreigners in an Inter side doesn't make much sense.

Re: Football : Season 08/09
Can someone, please explain why clubs disrepect major honours, by playing second string teams.
It was quite honestly pure degrading watching Spurs, play such poor football, gave the ball away too many times, l watched it via PC, and felt ashamed, knowing full well that Harry, wanted us to lose.
All clubs claim, that they play too many games per season, total rubbish, Players get a lot of money, so how many days rest do they need, before a cup tie. The great teams of years ago, didn't play second string sides, and they won trophies, put more heart into it, fans pay a lot of money to see there clubs, win games to win cups, so maybe, fans should ask for the money back, if they go to see, say ie Chelsea play Man Utd, and they put out there second teams.

FYI on your team, Harry has already said that the premier league was their main focus this season and not the cups, (It will be interesting to see what happens on Sunday).
Harry seems to have his head screwed on, some of the fans don't.

Re: Football : Season 08/09
Arthur, wouldn't you rather stay in the premier league than go a couple of rounds further in the UEFA cup and lose as soon as you face a decent team like Milan?

Has anyone ever typed "MCFC honours list" into google? This is what comes up

Not to Real he isn't, he hasn't scored against them in 11 games IIRC still with a bit of luck he'll put that right soon enough

They always have been the most 'cosmopolitan' team in Italy, doesn't shock me in the slightest really

Basically it boils down to one thing. Money. Football clubs no longer really care about honours it is all about money as they are all really a basis now.
If you win the UEFA Cup you will get about £5m IIRC, i'm sure someone can find a more accurate figure, whereas if you finish one place above the relegation zone you will get £20m. Managers have no choice but to concentrate on the league due to the differences in money, if Harry did anything else he would end up getting the sack, it's the same with the FA Cup too which I think is between 3-5m for the winners

I suppose so, but time will tell. I didn't think Nando had been around long enough to have participated in many of the games - hopefully he's back for 10th March 2nd leg.
Also, Parry has resigned http://www.skysports.com/story/0,195...980203,00.html
