Its silver with Ntl:home Broadband internet on it Model 60194E A12.

I have a problem with the Ac plug and an enginner is coming on the 21st of this month and the CS said they would probably change the Modem as well but I thought it would just be the same one, as Iâ₠™ve had to send things back in there entirety before to places when only a small part is fault to get a brand new back.

So is this an old model?

Fairly happy with it never had any problems apart from the ac unit supplying it. Would my old one have been swapped anyway fro this new speed increase?

Cant complain as the came when they said in fact it was 9:02am. But the engineer got out a new modem and I stupidly said its just the Ac adaptor mate so thatâ₠¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢s all a got a new ac plug.

Will the old modems be fine for this upgrade ?

Well seems they are dammed if they do and dammed if they don't.

Give out some information and folk are clammering for more, whatever is given is never enough, they wanna know the in's and out's of everything. Keep things quiet until they are ready to launch and that ain't good enough either, people claim to be kept in the dark and uninformed.

I really do despair at some posts I read, the thought of sticking my head in the gas oven rather than reading more cap/10mb posts seems rather more appealing.........

And as we are not in a Telewest area what bearing does it have. Tell you what Comcast have just upgraded there customers in Canada. You going to complain about that too . If you are so worried about size sorry speed there are faster providers out there ?. or if you really want telewest then move into one of there areas. These posts **** me off. Gee you lot would complain if we gave you everything for free and tucked you up in bed with a free cup of coco each night. It realy makes me wonder why i bother posting here if all you can do is whinge at every thing that NTL do.

BTW safeman according to this your leaving so why are you complaining http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/sh...58&postcount=1

Well there are other providers. All you have to do is get a land line. But there again you would probably complain about them as well.

BTW is that why you post in txt speak ?

and if you have no phone line then why was you saying you where thinking of moving.

And if you are in a NTL area you cannot get Telewest ?

I remember the Anti Cap brigade banging there chests and shouting from the roof tops "Thats It Were Moving". Funny thing is there all still on NTL and still here.

Telewest allways release faster speeds before NTL, Its a fact, just look at the last 4-5 years,

The reason is obvious, NTL, have a much bigger network than telewest, and hence the lead time to upgrade the network.

Thank your lucky starts your getting 10mb, people I know are stuck on 512kb on a aluminum DSL line @5.6km length!

Correct but the doom merchants said they would. Same as the NThell merchants that dont give a fig and just want to complain No matter what. If there not complaining they are not happy. And here's old me thinking we had got away from that on this forum and were doing something helpfull. But hey It's NTL so lets complain. and then we are happy

I don't think one person constitutes a "brigade", not everyone who disagrees with the cap is quite that insane.

Re: ntl Confirms 10Mb Broadband Speed Increase

Other ISP's are all very well but then you don't get the †œBloke in the Pubââ‚ ¬Ãƒâ€šÃ‚ service with anyone else except ntl.

And as for †œunlimitedà¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‚à , some hosting companies have been advertising this for years, only for people to find themselves booted off when their bandwidth has exceeded just a nominal amount.

Just remember that †œunlimitedà¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‚à is just to suck people in, once they are on-board heavy download/uploaders tend to get booted off by every residential type of ISP/Hosting company, sooner rather than later.

What has become apparent recently is that ntl have been turning a blind eye to really heavy usage in the past, even though the people doing it knew that they were taking the pee pee. It's not as if ntl has jumped on people who went over a few gigs a month, by all accounts people who have been downloading 3 or even 4 times the †œallowanceà¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‚à have not been given the word.

It appears to me that ntl are more tolerant than many people give them credit for.
