I have said all I need to say about Sky Sport Footy Coverage. The average subscriber likely as not thinks Owen is a UTD youth creation. Another bottle of Spanish Lager Clink Clink.

Re: Football : Season 2009/2010
Sorry it was Rooney not Owen. Obviously. My complaint was that this was in answer to the issue of Fergie slamming the ref as being unfit. I had the feeling that due to these 'journalists' having to maintain close relationships with Fergie they were reluctant to criticise him too much.

He has a habit of refusing to talk to certain people, should the criticism get too much (See MOTD) and we sell papers, unfortunately. Owen/Rooney, same applies. Rooney was already a class act at Everton, he would have made it anywhere, not saying Ferguson had no influence on him, he has to have had, but he didn't make him.

Although he'd be a good manager, it'd feel weird him being at OT (granted it'd feel odd not to have Fergie) and I'd have a feeling he wouldn't stay for more than a few years and we'll become a manager rotating club.

He was out of order with that. It was an ECL hangover and Sunderland just had more energy. Had he spent some cash and bolstered the squad a bit, might not have happened.

It's going to be odd when he leaves. What I like about JM is that he is in control of things, and if he isn't he says so. Chelsea had an agenda and the Chairman got involved more than he should (Shevchenko in/JM out don't seem so good now does it) at UTD he will get more freedom. He garners respect, like Ferguson and he can handle a BIG dressing room. I think he is made for us.

its good because its controversial , and if you read a paper in the morning then these are the people that write them (well the sports sections anyway) , the media have always 'spout one-off rubbish that is often incorrect' thats what makes it interesting and a topic to talk about

It's the controversy that makes Footy what it is. It's my overwhelming NO against TV replays for Refs, it will take the soul out of coming in here and ripping Pool fans for loosing to Fulham. I took some serious crap last Monday, oh my how the tables are turned this Monday.
Who wants the Ref chalking off an Off-Side goal that he gave? Like Blackburn, that goal was onside, it was a terrible decision, all Blackburn fans will say it and will get slated by UTD fans, and that is the fun in it.

Carragher was Red, last man. The first one was a nothing challenge.

Re: Football : Season 2009/2010
Russ, anybody'd think you were surprised that Berbatov actually scored, never mind made it look half-decent!
Chelsea's 4th goal was a beautiful piece of football though, absolutely sick to watch.
A record 8 red cards today in the Premiership. Refs in this division will have a bit to answer for, there were 4 genuine and 4 very iffy decisions made.

Rafa's annual "I'm losing it" rant: http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news...cle207531.html
If I remember correctly this is now the part of the season where they drop 10 points.

Tell that to Liverpool fans IF we win our 19th title.

Re: Football : Season 2009/2010
Can someone run down the possibilities for Liverpool being able to quality if they do not get all 3 points at Lyon?

Re: Football : Season 2009/2010
Paedophile? Never heard that one. I'd heard the story about him and Ray Parlour but nothing on the level of what's being suggested there.
