Possibly the only technology i would like to see is to check if the ball has crossed the line, but i reckon if thats allowed other things will be sneaked it and it will end up with all decisions being reviewd

That is what will happen, you hit the nail on the head. It will start small, and will end up with, big screen, 3D rotating displays, BBC/ITV and Sky trying to get one over on the other with it's own brand of technology, linked live via cable to pitch side, it's inevitable.
It wasn't a penalty (he went down because he has no Right foot and couldn't shoot) that type of challenge goes on all the time and never results in a free-kick. If someone puts their hand on your shoulder, your legs don't buckle. Not saying it isn't impeding, but then is shadowing the ball out of play, by sticking your backside into a player, not obstruction? And that always goes unchallenged.
I think the point here (reading the same thing on a few sites) is that this was the last big potential slip up for us, we have a tendancy to take that type of game for granted, and Blackburn, under Sam, can be tricky. We won, and it has put a lot of peoples noses out of joint (Setanta and the BEEB for one) and they are looking for excuses. The Ref was terrible, and he should take the blame.
When we play Pool/Arsenal etc we will be up for it, win or loose, it wont be a shock, this was the last of those games we should win but drop points in. Get ready, cos if City beat Pool the morrow, then the media will really let loose come Monday, it will be Tevez to Barca, Ronny to Real, Hargreaves is finished.......blah blah blah.
Mind, there is a Cup Final approaching, so the headlines designed to cause unrest between fans/players will start anyway.

Re: Football : Season 08/09
Hi Mal, Let me make this quite clear, and to all members of this forum, I don't believe in moaning about certain clubs, ie Man United etc.
I get totally ****ed off at accusations at slagging off clubs, Let me put it this way, referee's today are now pussyfooting round players, the players, that are on outrageus wages, that we have to pay for, get away with murder on the pitch, ie, spitting at other players, kicking them when the officals are not looking, diving, or kicking a player under the officals eyes, need l go on. These players would not last five minutes on the pitch in the days of Chopper Harris, Norman Hunter, you even get managers having a go at the ref and officals, and get away with it.
I could go to my local park and see some great football, and THEY have to PAY out of the own pocket, to get on the pitch - am l angry, yes you are damn right, we pay good money, to go to a game, expecting a great game of football, what do you get, a load of overpaid players going out, don't give a damn about us, and get paid.

Re: Football : Season 08/09
Hi Russb, I know how he got his name, and the opposite player, would not have got up and he would have known about it.
Down memory lane - Vinnie Jones, there is a name for you, But then, thats when they played great football, the best player l have ever seen was George Best, he was brilliant.
I saw him at Tottenham once, and l have never seen a goal scored, from such an angle, like the one he scored, there is NO ONE who is better than him, in todays game. (not even a Spurs player)

Arthur, you do seem to focus on Utd, just do a search of this thread, which does give the aforementioned impression.

Re: Football : Season 08/09
Actually given City's recent form, a draw at Scouse Central isn't a bad result.
But yes, 7 points is nice

Love it when Rafa Beneathus goes a pink colour during his interview, another draw at home for the dippers , a result against Inter now would make my week.

Re: Football : Season 08/09
I think it just goes to show how much of an anchor Gerrard is to the club. We played **** in most of the match. Only upped our game after that lucky goal. City were playing better. Either way, the season belongs to United.

Re: Football : Season 08/09
Maybe this thread should be renamed the anti-LFC thread
All is fair in love and football though, I'm not best pleased with what we've done so far this season but it could be worse, i could support Chelsea or Arsenal

Re: Football : Season 08/09
I'm really hoping for an Everton resurgence actually.
Will be immensely satisfying to watch Arsenal drop out of the top 5
While we're at it, nice win for the Swans too, we'll be in the premiership next season, you just watch

flankers?
The one time City get a result against a top side, and it's against those bleeding scousers. Top stuff!
Just gotta hope all the British sides get a good result in Europe this week, especially Man Utd who are a bit the worse for injury at the back after Evans got taken off today.
