Maybe true in terms of regional news but not accurate when it comes to regional programmes.. BBC2 Ireland broadcast highlights of the boxing match between Brian Magee and Lucian Bute about 4 months ago. It was only televised in Ireland however I managed to watch the show the following day in Scotland on iPlayer via Virgin.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2011) Vol. III.

Indeed. Programming shown only in the national regions is available on the VM version of the BBC iPlayer, including the national BBC2 channels which are not available on VM apart from in those specific countries, as is all London regional programming.

Why on earth would a company promise anything specific before negotiations are completed? That would be absolute madness.

We could get Jesus 3D where he announces his return (in 3D of course) but we'll never know until VM say something.

Subject: UKTV HD channel and VOD deal with Sky

Dear Neil Berkett,

This morning I read the following article:

http://www.mediaweek.co.uk/News/Most...-VoD-deal-Sky/

It outlines a VOD deal that has just been signed between UKTV and SKY,
also the roll out of three more HD channels bringing the total to five
on that network. Now obviously VM own 50% of UKTV yet we have none of
these HD channels, why is that? By giving SKY all that HD content
whilst your own customers are crying out for more HD really does come
across as a slap in the face.

If there is a good reason for this please could you inform me and the
rest of your customer base what it is. If not then carry these
channels.

Yours Sinisterly

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2011) Vol. III.

I have also had an email from Neil Berketts office as I also asked about the uktv hd channels and the email confirmed Virgin will be having them it did not however confirm launch date (As Virgin are still in discussion with UKTV over timings etc) only to say hopefully same time as Sky or if not soon after.

It does not look like cartoon network hd, disney hd however will be coming soon but the email did state discussions are ongoing with various HD channel owners
