But I hope the owner does. He said after winning, that they learned the lesson.
I am just not sure that paying money for both of those players is wise. that said, i don't own a football club (except my fantasy team, and my choices there are ok )

Congratulations to The Cod Army, just a pity their chairman is yet another one with more than a few question marks hanging over him.
Still with them and Rochdale getting promotion to Div 1 it means some good local derbies for the Latics.

If he leaves Saints for Spurs he's a fool. One (or even half a) season without perceived success & Levy will sack him.

LMAO Den.
How does going to a joke club like spurs show any ambition?
I rather suspect that if he goes we will find out that the idiot daughter of our benefactor is cashing in and running.
The simple fact is we dont need the money from sales.
If players werent being sold he would stay, hes been offered more money to stay than hed get in north london.

Sadly Julian l like Southampton as a club as they do many things the right way but deep down even Southampton fans have always know that Southampton is generally a selling club and a stepping stone on the way to bigger clubs and Spurs are a bigger club then Southampton and l know that's hard to take but it is a fact that even the most diehard Southampton fans would have to admit.

It was totally inevitable and it will be inevitable that if he does not start well he will get the sack pretty quickly as well.

why don't they go for a proper manager ? Inzaghi still needs time to develope as a potential elite manager.

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
Poyet signs new deal
Published: 28 May, 2014
by Sunderland AFC
Head coach puts pen to paper on extended contract.
Sunderland AFC has announced today that head coach Gustavo Poyet has signed a new contract at the Stadium of Light, which will see him remain on Wearside until 2016.
Under his guidance, the Black Cats recorded stunning league victories over Chelsea and Manchester United and did the double over local rivals Newcastle United.
Poyet also took Sunderland to their first major cup final in more than two decades, beating Manchester United in the two-legged semi-final of the Capital One Cup.
Speaking after signing his new contract, Poyet said: “I am delighted to extend my stay with Sunderland AFC, after an unbelievable season and our famous great escape.
"Stability is absolutely key to long-term and sustained success for any football club, and this new contract gives both the club and me that stability going forward.
“Now it's a different challenge for me and the club and I am relishing the next stage with Sunderland. We achieved so much last season, working together - the club and the fans - and we took many good memories from the season.
"The prospect of creating more of those memories is one which excites me, and now I cannot wait for the next chapter in my career and the history of Sunderland AFC."
Sunderland AFC’s sporting director, Lee Congerton, added: “We are naturally delighted that Gus has committed his long-term future to Sunderland. Our plans are well underway in terms of summer recruitment and we are working hard to bring new faces to the squad ahead of the 2014-15 season.”
Poyet’s backroom team of Mauricio Taricco, Charlie Oatway, Andy Beasley (goalkeeping coach) and Antonio Pintus (fitness coach) will continue to work alongside him.
