Re: Virgin Media V6 - Powered by TiVo(new STB)
I'd be amazed if they mass release a brand new piece of technology (not just existing TiVo or Liberty hardware tried and tested elsewhere) "just before Christmas". Can you imagine the carnage if they have early life problems over the Xmas/New Year period?!

Good point, I guess a soft launch 2016 is possible with some favoured customers though.

...but then I would have been locked in until the end of my contract if the new box was too expensive or did not meet my needs. How long can customers be expected to wait for 'jam tomorrow'!

Exactly.

True, then there's the added problem that courier's will be busy delivering Christmas presents.
If they release it after Christmas, people will have spent up and January/February is when their credit card statements will be dropping on the doormat.

That's what VM told us weeks ago. Why are you doubting it?

Stop being so negative. Virgin Media have told us that it will be released before Christmas, so why not accept that at face value?
If they fail, you can moan with a little credibility.
If there are restrictions on Sky content, you know who's to blame for that, don't you?

Well, spiderplant reckons they are set to keep their promise, so let's give them the benefit of the doubt for now. We should be getting excited at this point, rather than having a massive winge about nothing.

Re: Virgin Media V6 - Powered by TiVo(new STB)
I popped in to our local Virginmedia shop yesterday. I asked when we might see the release of the new box. I was told "next month". The response to a number of questions in relation to the new box was "we have no information".

That is not unusual, fixerman. There have been reports of this previously on the forum, and also that we have known about forthcoming changes before Customer Services.

In short I wish VM would tell us when it's coming as like many others Sky Q is fluttering her eyelids at me with the occasional prolonged sideward glance.

I spoke to Faults yesterday to explain my dilemma and they told me that the V6 was coming in November absolutely, definately. Make of that what you will.
