Channel 4 has confirmed that walker Laura will be replaced by a new housemate.

Following the 20-year-old sales assistant's departure early this morning, there has been speculation online that another late entrant may join the show on Friday.

Confirming reports, the official BB Twitter account said: "So it's goodbye to Laura but we can reveal she'll be replaced by a new housemate in the future."

Fans on the DS forums and Twitter have called for one of the potential housemates from Friday's live show - Joel, Megan or Samuel - to be used as a replacement. However, it has not been confirmed whether the new contestant will be selected from that list.

Laura walked out this morning after less than a week on the show, complaining that she felt "overwhelmed" by the experience.

I'd also bet money that if he does, it could get ugly between him and Steve.

same here, I wanted him in. Surely these people know what to expect after 10 years of watching the show. As said, a waste of a place and time, she's boring anyway

Davina will join the housemates – who have to completely blank all visitors and distractions for this week’s ongoing shopping task – to present part of the show live from inside the house.

The twins said: “We are really excited to be playing our new single in the Big Brother house. The housemates have been doing really well at this task but we are going to make it really hard for them to ignore us.”

In addition, either Andrew, Ben, Dave or John James will be evicted, and one new housemate will enter during the episodes which air at 9.00pm and 10.30pm on Channel 4.
