any news on Swansea? Unlike the previous upgrade, it looks like we're being upgraded last.

Going off a quick glance this morning Huddersfield might have been done.
Will have a proper check later.

Yup TBC - might have been a one off but downloading an iso from Kent mirror got me 800KB/S. Will check it properly tonight. The whole set-up had been powered down yesterday, including the modem.

Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer

Only getting a solid 1.5Mbps this morning. Looks like there is network problems, a new form of STM (with no upload change) or there is just congestion. But its solid at 1.5Mbps on any speed test and any download I do...

Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer

upgraded here also in TS8 with steady 1.22mbs

if any1 was wondering, the "traffic shaping" on 10mb seems to be around 2mb
as my max download speed was around 300kbs after i was "shaped"

The STM on 10Mbps it is

2.5Mbps down and 128Kbps up after 800MB down or 350MB up between 4pm and 9pm.

Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer

My connection now seems to have been upgraded (Cambridge area), but I only seem to be receiving the increased speed on downloads. For example, 9567.30 Kbps for download, but 196.80 Kbps for upload.

The modem configuration looks right, Maximum Downstream Data Rate : 10240000 and Maximum Upstream Data Rate : 512000

Any ideas?

Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer

Anyone else becoming frustrated with all of this nonsense?

They will upgrade all the packages yet not allow the full usage of them..

What a bloody joke.

TBC? Come on, get your act together
