Re: What was your first ever Mobile Phone?

My first mobile was pre text but post brick. Small and almost round with a push up part at the top you had to move to answer or make calls and a stubby aerial (was cheaper to get this than have BT put a landline in)

When Comtel came round we got a proper land line.

Next mobile was a Siemens A50 then a Nokia 3510i. Hubby has just got a Motorola V3i (his first mobile ever).

I bought mine in late 1995.

Ah, happy days. Nothing about today's phones can quite beat the sense of importance you get from extending the aerial before answering a call.
I got one of these at Orange launch in April '94 (I used to have the Hutchinson Rabbit and they were offered as a replacement), I've still got it and it still works with the SIM from my Motorola V3 My partner's daughter borrowed it when she went clubbing the other week and was the centre of attention

They where excellent phones based on the nokia 2110. Don't think I had one come back faulty yet sold 100's. I had a company one as a demo with a clear case fitted, looked real cool.

It was also a very basic phone with a rock solid operating system thats not really changed a lot to some of the cheaper modern day nokia's.
