I can`t remember the specific wording, but you need a television license if you are using any piece of equipment that can receive television signals, so a TV receiver card would still require a licence.

It does, they changed the wording so that it explicitly stated about tv reception equipment on pc's. When I lived in halls I just used to leave my pc case open so I could just whip the card out whenever anyone came around

That is the whole point of the thread as you called the BBC the 'Baarthist Broadcasting Company'

Perhaps the truth that Bush and Blair made a mistake is more than you can handle.

The BBC are reporting the facts, but and this is where all news companies have a bias, a bad news story (like the bombings) is considered a 'sexier story' (for an explaination of this see 'Drop the Dead Donkey') than a good news story.

Shabba made a damn good point Jerrek, which is perhaps the point that the BBC are trying to make.

The war was NOTHING to do with terrorism, it was just that Dubya wanted to finish his fathers dirty work.

I looked into this a while back. If you have any apparatus that is capable of recieving a colour television signal, you pay a colour licence.

So Video recorders (don't know if Video players with no record ability count) & TV cards do attract a licence.

Ignoring the recent scandals of how BBC are lying to the public, I found this interesting snippet online:
How very true. What the BBC needs are more unbiassed, quietly reasonable, unchauvinistic people like the US radio commentator, Rush Limbaugh.

For example, if the BBC was like this we wouldn't be having these complaints:

†œIn a couple of years, when things calm down, the oil spigots will be on, now these pansies (French and Germans) want in so they can be a part of itâ₠¬Ãƒâ€šÃ‚.

†œWe donââ‚ ¬ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚¢t need more troops, we just need better intelligenceâ↡¬Â.

"Why in the world would we want people like them, like de Villepin or Chirac, to come in and start sharing command decisions about what happens now? Silly! We can handle it. We're the United States of America."

Re: Bbc

On news night last night, Bush's former speech writer accused the BBC of biased, because in one report he said that the BBC interview 3 people with negative opinions one of which he recognised as a protest rallier.

He must have been talking about a different one because the one I saw gave 2 positive and 1 negative
