My son wants to swap to Virgin from Sky. However won`t until Virgin get a version of Sky Go & get Sky Atlantic ( His wife wants this more than him ) I wonder if there are many more out there that feel like this .

I'm one of them , I wouldnt even consider VM without Sky Sports 3,4,F1 HD or Sky Atlantic HD , I have no interest in arguments of withholding or wanting too much thats for the corporates to thrash out , I just want a provider who provides me with my favoured channels , I have no interest whatsoever in who has what STB in fact I quite like the fact that Sky+HD is simple with an intuitive interface. It's another thread that boils down to personal preference.

Not as many as you think Itshim but perhaps the great one will do a quick count for you.

So Atlantic may be good for some people, but for me I'm far too busy to have time to go looking for new things to watch, when there are enough channels already. Especially as the Tivo records programs that are similar to what I like anyway.

You not liking something while other people do like it is not reason enough to say something is overhyped.

Read my post above!!
But I believe it is overhyped, just like most advertising overhypes things. It's known as marketing. There are 100's of channels on Sky, and they make it out in the adverts to be better than all the others put together.....now that is over hyping in my opinion.

Total rubbish. To begin with Sky are advertising all their channels and they aren't saying forget Sky 1 because Atlantic is better. So not sure how thu can be advertisinh this channel as being better than ALL other channels put together.

Exactly! If people don't like something, why don't they just say so instead of refering to it as an "over hyped crap channel"? It's pure arogance on their part to suggest that anything that they don't like is "over hyped crap".

I have seen no evidence olf Sky promoting Atlantic more than Living or Sky One. The point is though that Atlantic has many quality US dramas on it, which is why many VM customers are keen to have it and so post frequently about the lack of it.

I didn't say it was crap. I just said that it has been overhyped, over advertised, or whatever you want to call it. I'm not interested in the channel, but get bombarded with adverts for it.

And you aren't sick of them yet? Or aware that for a few months it was the one sky channel that was advertised more than any other?

What is crap is down to personal taste. My taste is for British drama over American any day of the week. The same as I personally prefer British comedy over American.

I can't say that I see this advertised more than any other Sky channels. I think they have been advertising all of them more or less the same.

I suppose it could be a case of adverts that don't interest me are more annoying, so I notice them more.
