I'll check again tonight... does it go back in synch at any point or just stay out?

Re: Sound out of synch on BBC HD
Hmm good question. I would say that whilst it always out of sync the amount does vary, from watchable with me grumbling to totally unwatchable and changing channel. If that makes sense.

Yeah
I'm going to monitor again tonight, but when was the last time you rebooted the V+?

Re: Sound out of synch on BBC HD
ok, doesn't seem to be doing it any more... I've been looking through customer reports and we've had none over the last few days for BBC HD.
Have you tried a full reboot of the box? as I've had no issues since my home V+ was rebooted a couple of days ago.
Let me know how you get on.

DF - thanks for your help. I will try a full reboot, although it was not that long ago, a week or so.

Df - Weird not sure if it is my imagination but on the one show the live studio broadcast is much much worse than recorded clips.

Ok, just replicated on office tv, but not enough to raise after looking in to it, only very slightly out. How bad is it now mdancer?
Our broadcast team are looking at this now... let's see what they come back with..

Re: Sound out of synch on BBC HD
Hi DF - Thanks yet again for looking into this. I was not online at 9:30 last night to give you feed back. Although watching later in the evening it was out of sync, but seems to drift in an out as I indicated before. I hope your broadcast have some luck. I must admit I feel as if I am the only one experiencing this problem, and that it may be a local issue to me.
Cheers

Yeah, I wasn't too hopeful even speaking to Broadcast Team about them finding anything, but it did happen in the office when it was passed over to them.
We'll see... might possibly be a problem on your stb or as you say, more locally.
Once I've got a responce later today, I'll advise on the best way forward.

Re: Sound out of synch on BBC HD
Just found this thread after googling the same problem.
I have recently upgraded to V+ after and from day one I have had the same audio out of synch problem as described my mdancer.
So this is not an isolated case!
I reported it to Virgin on 13th July and as a result have an engineer visit booked for Monday.

OK, broadcast can't see any issues. Try another reboot, if no joy then call 151 and report the issue to faults.

Re: Sound out of synch on BBC HD
No not just BBC HD, the issue is apparaent on all channels I have watched....but different delays and also seems to be variable. Just been watching the golf on BBC and the sound of the club is well in front of the visual action. Worse on HD.

Re: Sound out of synch on BBC HD
The main one I have noticed is BBC HD. Maybe you guys can check something for me. Do you see the issue on BBC HD programs that broadcast in dolby digital 5.1 AND on boradcasts with just 2.1 (Stereo) ? Or do you see it on one type in particular?
