That's not the same really. haggling is when a price is offered or asked for at a higher price. where you either pay it or take them down to an accepted level between the two.

Re: Left virgin
I probably will phone up and ask virgin media to bring my 50Meg back next week as I still got the 50Mb cable modem here. See if they can offer me a great deal this time !

Us people on Be don't have these kind of problems. we more or less get a constant speed no matter which way the wind happens to be blowing

Re: Left virgin
just been on the phone, surprise they still working 24-7. They ask me why I would want to come back to virgin after cancel my 50 meg 2 days ago. I explain about download transfer rate isn't enough on sky max. They say to me in order to have your 50mb back, you need to pay £80 again to get installation date booking but I say to them, hang on, I already got my 50mb cable modem, can't you switch it on straight away? they say no, we cannot switch it on for you but it can switch it on for either 10 or 20 meg but the 50 meg - you still need a tech man to come out again.
That's is stupid. I told them I think about it over the weekend and phone back on monday to place 50 meg order or not.

Re: Left virgin
Why shouldn't you pay the £80?

Re: Left virgin
No it's not. You took the 50Mb service paid £80 for it knowing fine well you weren't going to keep it as you were just waiting for your SKY broadband to be activated.
You cancelled, got your £80 refunded and the modem by rights should be returned to Virgin.
So yes you get to pay for it again and rightly so.

Re: Left virgin
Surely they got to switch it on straight away without the need of engineer man to come out ? Why on earth pay £80 for ? the £80 is suppose to be first time of installation and activation fee of 50 Meg ! (nothing to do with the modem or router)

I gonna to phone them again now - to double check.

Re: Left virgin
Maybe they're making you pay cos of the 35GB that you downloaded, then cancelled your services thinking you were getting one over on Virgin or maybe it's for wear and tear on the modem?

I think they should waive the fee and treat him as a retention customer.

He's got to call Sky telling them I not wanting the Sky anymore, and they might give him a good deal for Virgin to consider paying him to stay
