Re: Samsung Galaxy S2 Ice Cream Sandwich?
I just posted a message on the Virgin twitter feed asking when we will get the update. I'll let you know when(or if)I hear anything.

To be honest they won't know anymore than Krystal does on the Community Forum who posted this yesterday:

I've had confirmation from people who liase with the handset testing team that they are currently working with Samsung to get the update to launch so it's definately on their radar.
As to whether all Virgin Samsung Galaxy S II's are unbranded or not will be picked up by the handset testing team on Monday as I'm not sure of this information and as stated in my post from the 4th page of this thread, I believe we need more transparency on updates, rather than just asking them and them responding in due course. I'll update when I get more information.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S2 Ice Cream Sandwich?
Ok thanks for that Ben.
I have my phone set to automatic updates so one day I will have a nice suprise.
I've also posted a message about 3D on demand as well.
I always find the twitter team to be most helpful

Q. Can I upgrade my phone to Android SW version “Ice Cream Sandwich” (ICS)
via FOTA?
A. The ICS SW upgrade is not currently supported via FOTA.
When the ICS upgrade becomes available to upgrade your GT-I9100 to ICS version, please upgrade your mobile via KIES 2.0 You can download KIES 2.0 from www.samsung.com
Note: If the customer tries to upgrade the mobile device SW from Ginger Bread to
Ice Cream Sandwich via FOTA, a "No update available” pop-up will be displayed.

Well Hugh there are pessimists and there are optimists and there are certainly plenty of pessimists on here lately.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S2 Ice Cream Sandwich?
Wish they would hurry up, just got my new SGS2 and am itching to set it up and install my paid for apps but theres not much point in putting in the time and effort just for it to be wiped by a new FW upgrade.

You can go ahead, ICS upgrade won't wipe your phone, does an inplace update.
