I must admit, if it weren't for the BSG connection, I'm not sure I would have stuck with Caprica.

Re: Series Renewed / Cancelled 2010
anybody notice a trend with canning its generally SCIFI based stuff which these tv bosses kick in the teeth.
Yet soaps, hospital, detective shows even if there numbers poor get to keep going. Then there the trash tv fillers of reality trash which they bombard us with.

The problem with Sci Fi (and comedy, actually) is that it can cost a lot of money to do well. As such, it needs a lot of viewers before the TV company will see a profit.
The other sorts of shows don't, generally, cost a lot to make, so they can get away with fewer viewers.

Re: Series Renewed / Cancelled 2010
Chuck is apparently "on the verge" of having a "back nine" order, to bring its 4th season from 13 episodes to a full 22.

Re: Series Renewed / Cancelled 2010
Chase and Chuck have been given full season orders. NBC have also ordered more scripts for Undercovers so that may get some more episodes, too.

These are american shows...so we are at the mercy of american audiences, who are not the shiniest buttons in the box.
Be thankful that we don't just end up with God programmes..or endless reality music talentless shows...wait..strike that..at least we don't have God programmes
