You are on Belfast East, which is why you've the bele6 part, Belfast East CMTS 6.

I have highlighted the relevant bit, the belf part is just where the server that gives you your IP address lives, not where you connect directly.

Thanks

Cardiff CMTS 11 and 12 are DOCSIS 3 enabled. As you may well know you are connected to CMTS 12, a Motorola BSR 64000, and just need to wait for the release of the product.

In my area it's the other way around, no modems have been moved to the overlay but 50Mbit has been released.

I did notice CMTS-12 when doing some testing whilst trying to work out the reason for my poor connection. Response is very quick when tracing routes. Shame the throughput is appalling. Still, engineer on Tuesday should put that right.

I've heard rumours of the release of 50Mb to the tune of the 1st/2nd week of May for Cardiff, although after reading Spiderplant's replies about the separate districts of the city, it might not mean that all of Cardiff goes 50Mb at once. We shall see.

Either way, it should be sooner rather than later.

Yes, Treforest. (By the way, you are on a tref UBR, not the tref UBR. There are three of them)

Treforest will be upgraded separately.

Judging by what has happened in other areas, the main site (Cardiff in your case) is done first, and the hub sites a few weeks later.

I have my adult pampers at the ready !

---------- Post added at 18:12 ---------- Previous post was at 17:51 ----------

Well, the useless Scottish lady told me that she couldn't provide me with the service and that it didn't matter if I rang Sales (I rang 150 and asked to change package) they would tell me the same thing.

She said that even though the website confirmed I could get it at my property, that it said it was 'up to 50Mb and that I could only get 20Mb which was included in the up to figure'

WTF? Hello. Is that staff training I hear knocking at her cubicle?

I rang sales and the call was auto-picked up without a live agent to speak to me. Grrrr. Hate that. Being on a cordless phone, I'd rather not burn the battery listening to other people be sold stuff.

If any useful VM employee would like to contact me, then feel free. Will PM my account number to anyone that's interested.

Cheers.

Personally I would call tomorrow morning after 0800 and you should get a UK agent or call Tech Support on 151 and they should be able to check if 50Mb capable and transfer you to Customer Service.
