Still nothing.

Re: New Speed Upgrades 8th March. (Part 3)
I think it all depends on who you get, and how nice you are to them, in saying that I was very nice ot the very nice scottish lady, and she said it would upgrade, it has not, so I am not ringing again.
i will just wait to see what happens, whats the point in wasting time hanging on a phone.
ik
p.s. it was not my link.

Re: New Speed Upgrades 8th March. (Part 3)
I just phoned and the CS person said they can't activate the speed upgrade manually it'll be done automatically area by area and couldn't even tell me when my area would be done, this was from someone on the NTL Broadband tech support (Wythenshawe, Manchester - Samsung STB).

Unplugged router, resetted STB, re-provisioned pc, resetted STB, connected router... and yay! 1mb broadband
They suggested this, so accepted this, til my new STB is installed
BTW, I'm in Gosport Hampshire (PO12). Bromley Platform.
On user info screen, QOS now says stb-light.cm (meaning 1mb service)
What are the new names for the QOS cm file now ?

Just phoned CS after no joy with upgrade link via Ntlworld website and spoke to helpful Scottish chap. Said did he want to do the upgrade for me over the phone, I said yes and a minute after ending call my modem re-booted and I am now upgraded from 750k to 2 meg!
Done the speed test and all ok!

Re: New Speed Upgrades 8th March. (Part 3)
I just phoned again, this time i went through to number 5 on the main options (Other enquiries), he gave a MUCH better response than the NTL Broadband tech support line and said the Wythenshawe area of Manchester is due to be upgraded on Friday.
