Why am I in trouble you ask? simply eating enough calories to cover it now I am fluttering around my target weight of 12 stone
You now weigh less than me and I don't consider myself overweight much for my height of 5ft11 even though my BMI says I am, what I'm trying to say is I just have a bit of a little belly.

What did you weigh before you started this life changing crusade and do you know when you have your excess skin removal operations yet?

Anybody able to help me please. I need a new seat for my mountain cross country bike. My buttocks hurt while planted on the seat at present. Ideally I'd like a new post and seat. Why I need a seat post as well is because currently there's a big gap between bottoming out the seat post and the seat so my ride height is higher than I want it. I'm tip toeing currently while sitting on the seat and my feet touching the ground. I'd like the seat to go down some more. Not sure if it's possible. May be the current one is bottoming out.

Seat post is 30.9
Maybe a seat like this? I guess you bought a bike too big for you sadly.

It's a medium frame for a 5'4 male. That seat looks hideous, arseface like.

31 stone and no idea likely a long weight hahaha see what I did there.

I used to opt for big padded seats but they do not help and now prefer the much slimmer seats. My backside is a lot tougher to it now but it took a while haha

This is the seat I have but I bought it from Aliexpress for a fraction of the cost

https://www.amazon.co.uk/LERWAY-Road...ps%2C94&sr=8-6

Tip toe to the floor is kinda normal to a dregree the important thing is when you pedal your leg should be almost straight but not quite. If you lower the seat via post or whatever you may find you spoil the stroke

Can you take a picture thenry ? I struggle to understand what you mean by bottoming out

It's not what the seat looks like! It's whether it's comfy because you gave the impression your ass is huge so based on you rejecting that size seat I've no idea what you need to be comfy, maybe a park bench on it? Lol

Post of the week

I was exaggerating about my fat ass wobble wobble. Anything is fat ass from 7 stone. A normal sized seat will suffice. I just don't know what is comfortable. And I need rid of the post taking up ride height. A fitting where the post and seat meet is what I'm after so the seat is lower than my current original one.

that looks very unusual not seen one like that. It looks like the actual seat fitting is different to standard so it is just that bracket you may need. I might have one

---------- Post added at 16:51 ---------- Previous post was at 16:49 ----------

this is the type of post that you need

https://www.amazon.co.uk/UPANBIKE-13...96&sr=8-6&th=1

---------- Post added at 16:54 ---------- Previous post was at 16:51 ----------

make sure right diameter

---------- Post added at 16:54 ---------- Previous post was at 16:54 ----------

will fit your existing seat too . It is the seat bracket that is weird

The seat is uncomfortable so it needs changing and the post.

Care to share your AliExpress links please

Re: Who Is Getting Fit This Year?

Been on the Ozempic for close to 2 months now and decided to check my stats as I had been going from memory rather than my training notes, which I only tend to use to record lifting PBs etc.

Also bought a new set of scales. Not necessarily a good idea when you want to build muscle whilst burning fat, but I wanted to get a measure of how/if the 'zempic was working.

Turns out that I've been around the 16 stone mark for the best part of 5 years, which makes sense as I've been focusing on form and maintaining muscle rather than building it (not the easiest task at 51). When I gave up the half-marathon stuff in 2017, I was worried I'd put on visceral fat as my knee injury meant running those distances was no longer an option. Fortunately, I never actually put on much, if any fat, I just had a bit of a gut that, while it wasn't problematic, I just didn't like the look of it.

No matter how much cross-trainer or cycling cardio I tried, it just wasn't shifting. My shoulders, chest, biceps/triceps, lats and quads all looked good to me (and Mrs Russ ) but the gut was really p***ing me off.

Anyway, after using the Ozempic, I've dropped 8lb, and carrying somewhat less weight means I can go further with the cardio (my resting heart rate is on a nice downward trajectory and I've needed to add an extra hole to all 3 of my belts).

If I can hit 15 stone consistently, then as long as my knee is strapped up nicely, I may not be able to return to my half-marathon days, but I'm certain I can hit a regular 10k in a few months.

Re: Who Is Getting Fit This Year?

Nice work mate.

My fitness has improved last week I cycled over 240 miles over 6 days. I have reduced my distance walking in favour of longer distance cycling. All takes the same amount of time. I am really struggling to sleep in this heat but this has meant I have been getting up silly early and putting my miles in before it gets to hot and before the traffic gets to bad. Roll on the school holidays

Be careful - I would suggest getting the knee x-rayed/MRI’ed (if you have already, apologies) before stressing it further; I strapped up my knee to continue walking/carrying our Dalmatian for a further year after his accident, and it completely shredded my left medial meniscus, which then led to bone-on-bone wear, requiring a full knee replacement.
