Re: The Football Thread 2005/2006 Season

OK and who do you support then?

Judging by the signature you have just got a new pip... ooh, I could take that away for you... (but I wouldn't)

We may be a bit **** now but it's all Megson's fault and crap clubs don't win the European Cup, that's the Champions League to younger fans.

Cheers. Dunno what would be worse tbf, winning the LDV or getting knocked out and NOT winning it...

Must be nice for you though, when things go bad for Camb you can always look and see your "other team" rich and sitting pretty atop the Prem...

Hmmm, were you not relegated from the premiership before Megson joined? Quite a few seasons before. So blaming Megson for your current problems is not right

Back on that are we? You can actually support more than one team you know

Oxford- didn't realise it was possible but your team is actually worse than mine.
All together now... you've never won **** all, come on, you lot all know the words

He didn't quit, he sounded like he would. Apparently, if we lose tomorrow (which I firmly believe we will) he's off.

1. yes but Platt aside, we had a decent side that did well and lost its way under Hart, we were a few mins plus a play off final away from the Prem. Kinnear came and did a decent job with a talented side, strengthened but also introduced a training regime based on alcoholism and pie avarice- starting a relegation campaign... any manager with 8m players at his disposal, plus the talent of Commons, King etc could have kept us up and I believe Mick Harford may well have done... but they brought in Megson who swapped Kinnear's unfit but attractive purposeful, passing football into a dour, defensive, hoofball load of cack that rolled over spinelessly every game and was anything other than tight at the back, a theme which has continued after the close season And Darryl Powell...
Plus a lot of the senior players WHICH HE BROUGHT IN are rumoured to be unhappy with his methods and his aggressive handling of the players, and Gary Holt is even reported to be considering quitting football if he has to play for Megson much longer.
I think it's fair to say Megson needs to shoulder a fair proportion of the blame for our current plight.

2. I didn't mean that, I just meant, nice for you to have a "small" team and one that's reasonably successful. All I get is a big team doing ****e.

Re: The Football Thread 2005/2006 Season

I think you are wrong about forest. From what I know (discussions with forest fans) Hart is rated very highly, he had a similiar job to what craig has now at leics and that is to cut the wage bill. Hart did that and amazingly also got you to the playoff's. Since he left forest have done too much chopping and changing and you will come good if megson is allowed time to get things right.

Likewise at leics we are not doing great ourselves but I have seen progress with better quality football and age of squad coming down, players on longer contracts etc. But the results arent going right at the moment which unfortenatly is what manager's are judged on.

Settle down guys, support your local team without the animosity, my local team (Bury) are going through a bad time ATM falling out with local rivals does not help, we all need to pull together for the good of the smaller teams.
