All in all a very good day for England. Pity they let the Aussie tail wag again though - that sort of thing can come back to haunt you. 29-0 at the close after a tricky spell late in the day is very nice.

On the positive side it does show that this is not a sub 300 AO wicket once you get past the new ball.
I knew the Aussies had recalled Johnson for something, must have been his batting.

There was always a danger that his 60 odd with the bat would restore his confidence, a superb spell of bowling makes for a proper test match now.
