Firstly, there's a huge difference between 18 months and 5 months. Secondly....

All the more reason for VM to get their finger out and be the first. With Sky now having Fibre broadband, VM's former USP (cable BB) has gone and they quickly need a new one. Tivo is a valid USP for me, but I think for most Tivo users, it's a prefered box option, not an essential one.

No, as far as rights are concerned, multi room streaming was planned from the get go of VM's Tivo involvment, so those negotiations could have been started around 2.5 years ago.

I Choose 5 months as the possibly least time it could be. Still it is a long time at that figure, really 5 months is short - only in the public sector - in the real world its crazy time

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
It is ages since I last visited this forum.
I have just been upgraded to a Tivo box and have a couple of questions.
I just tried to watch "pointless" from Friday via catch-up. The guide shows the catchup symbol but when I try to find it in the catchup list it isnt there. If you try to watch it via catchup on my V+ box (now upstairs) it is there. I realise that I can access it vis bbc iplayer but that is a bit cumbersome. Is it something I am doing wrong or do I just have to put up with it?
Secondly as I said I have had my V+ box moved upstairs but when I try to access any of the "+" features such as my recorded programs or pausing TV I get an error message. My instinct is that I need to contact Virgin direct, but any thoughts.
Many thanks for any input.
Cheers
John

That's a fault that is currently under investigation. Pointless and a few other shows aren't getting listed by TiVo even though they are available in iPlayer.

Yes, you need to call the Faults department.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Spiderplant - thanks for your reply, I guess it is just wait it out - I have set it to record so it is easier to access.
I will call the faults department - they were also supposed to up my broadband to 100mb but although there is a new modem I am still only getting just under 20mb download - according to speedtest.net (although the upload speed has increased).
Thanks again

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Morning all
Got a strange problem with my Tivo remote......
Every now and again when I press the "Last channel" button the TV changes to
"My shows" ??
I know I'm getting clumsy in my old age, but the buttons are well apart.
Anybody else getting this ??

So, living up (or down? ) to your username then?
Have you checked the batteries lately? That's the only possible thing I can think of.
Not had that happen here ever.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
I currently have all three services(tel, TV, broadband) and a V+ box. I also have an old CRT TV ( one of the few with component connectors) that allows HD.
I'm thinking about upgrading to Tivo and getting rid of the V+ box but don't like the "collections" offered.
Is it possible just to upgrade my current package to Tivo? If so what would it cost and which TV box would I get please?
Perhaps a recent convertee from V+ to Tivo could give me the benefit of their experience of the conversion process and comment on the quality of the service please.TIA.

Cheers, Ben. Thanks for that. Looks like I'll have to put that on hold until my current TV expires or someone comes up with a working HDMI-to-Component cable!!
