Flat roofs and their mysterious leaks ! Think I've found the source of my issue, a long way from where the leak actually came in... StilI, I love a challenge/investigation |

So, since December the Bank of England base rate has risen from 0.1 to 0.75%.
My bank has generously raised the interest paid on my savings account from 0.01 to 0.1%.
Unfortunately, not yet living back in the UK, I can't open an account with another bank that pays better rates.

Or Premium Bonds. (Av return about 1% and the chance of a big payout). All dwarfed by inflation unfortunately. Not sure if you can apply if not UK resident.

If you can afford to tie down the money then the stock market is prob best with its associated risks of course.

Alternatively spend it. Might be best atm and more fun |

My wife has always followed that theory . . . actually less of a theory, more a lifestyle

			You know what they say:
A successful man is one who can earn money faster than his wife can spend it.

A successful woman is one who can find such a man.

Just worked out the increase for dual fuel, means we will be paying an extra £1261 per year. However the Government is generously increasing my pension in April by £2.55 per week. |

On Saturday, the M11 J7 was shut northbound to J8 (Thanks to a new J7a being build)

So all traffic was going through my town, It took me 45 minutes to get out of the Sainsbury car park.

Traffic was still manic at 8pm.

My on-line business banking (HSBC) needs the use of a security device that generates a 6 digit code after you enter your PIN number but the website is rejecting it as invalid. It's a replacement as the original's battery ran down and cannot be replaced.
I know it's correctly programmed with my PIN because if I enter the wrong code it says PIN FAIL

I'm going to have to go down into town and visit the branch to see if they can suss out what the problem is.
