Many thanks - hoped it might be sooner but at least we've got some sort of timeframe to work on

There is nothing wrong with extra chargable content because at the end of the day people don't have to subscribe to it Howard.

Its not just the LG way as everyone of the big behemoths is going down that road.

Can't see a issue with it myself, you don't have to subscribe to the new pay services.
It's good to have choice on one box imo hence why i ended up buying a ROKU lol.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2014) Vol. 3
Whilst we're talking about the possibility of Amazon Instant Video coming to TiVo, I just signed up for a 30 day trial of the service last night. I thought you have to pay £79.00 up front if you wanted to keep the service however I noticed when signing up that Amazon also offer the video service on it's own for £5.99 per month.
Must admit the service is pretty good. Some surprises I didn't expect to see as part of the subscription like every episode of the Borgias and HBO's Deadwood.
Starting to seriously consider Freeview along with Netflix and Amazon Instant rather than an expensive TV subscription.

Agreed. I've let my entertainment pass lapse. There are some nice box sets, but they're readily available elsewhere (including, often, my local library). I didn't find myself watching enough on it.

I was close to this a month or so ago, but was reigned in by Mrs M who didn't want to lose some of the channels, whilst I wasn't very keen on losing TiVo either. If the cost of watching sport spirals to the sort of money you predicted in the sports thread then I'll have to try convincing her again and consider one of the foreign streaming options.

I'm in a similar position being that I have BT Infinity 2 I'm considering adding BT TV for £7 with a free YouView box however I'll wait until they iron out the recording of internet channels issue.
We already have a retail YouView box so this will be adequate for our other room plus we have Netflix and access to Amazon Prime.
Both VM and Sky are now starting to look really expensive , both suck you in with low introductory charges which increase and with the yearly increase factored in become ridiculous.

Wish you could just take the sports channels and the free-to-air channels,no other subs required. Bet loads of others do too!
