It is patronizing, I compared it to telling a First class passenger there was no longer seat available but they could get their fix of airline travel on an economy seat. Insensitivity and lack of empathy with customers rings to mind.
Anyway my complaint was not about the lack of channel but their communication process. Even with confidentially they can at least still update customers (in particular those like me who signed up for updates) to say there is no news. Rather than having to phone up for updates or get them from BT.
In particular I mentioned the recent silence over Premier Sports (surely no confidentially now) and my feedback about paying more for premium content.
I don't think giving feedback about communication and willing to pay more for certain content was a wasted exercise. If enough customers write to VM to tell them they would pay more perhaps they may revisit talks with PS if they thought their was interest.
Whatever the case I am going to get BT sports in order to follow the MLB and rugby (no fix available for this on Eurosport) and if moving is the only option available I will reluctantly move. I'm just sitting it out for a few more days.

BT Sport Virgin Media wholesale deal "close"
Reuters is reporting that a deal between BT Sport and Virgin Media is "close"
Quote:
Separately, a person familiar with the situation said the group was close to agreeing a wholesale deal with cable operator Virgin Media (LBTYA.O). Any wholesale deal would increase the number of viewers watching the channels, and allow BT to charge more to advertisers.

Alwaysabear, is the NBA confirmed as being on SS next year? It's my main deciding factor about what to do before the season starts and I haven't been able to find any information yet.

I have to say I also cannot find any confirmation of TV rights for next season. That will teach me to assume, I should know better if the NFL is anything to go by will not get confirmation until the week before the season starts who will be carrying the games. Thank God that SS signed a three year deal with the NFL at the beginning of last season.

Only Atlantic has the main HBO shows, which to me makes it a specialist channel. It doesn't have all the US cable TV shows, and I believe there are two HBO shows still on Fox because they already had the rights (True Blood and Eastbound & Down). But the fact that they have the vast majority of HBO shows makes it a specialist channel in my eyes, irrespective of the other shows they also put on the channel. I don't think anyone in the US would think that the actual HBO channel that they are able to subscribe to, is not a specialist channel.

Fair enough PB, I think this could rumble on and on. If it's okay with you, I would like to agree to disagree!

There is a good Wikipedia page that has whose has which rights for sports until when http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sports_...United_Kingdom
I might given impression in other threads American football was still TBA so apologies if peeps have taken my word not my intention to mislead

Aha! so they are still withholding information, they didn't say which club.
