Re: [Merged] CR3-Feedback & Questions in Here Please.
I moaned about it when it first started to happen ... I suspended disbelief when they said "it'll go away once the LCR3 roll-out is complete" .... I was even beginning to think that they were right ... but no ...
the 1:10 am random channel change has returned
This time, complete with screen blanking before and after.
Does anyone know why this happens - and, more to the point, how to stop it?
I fully expect that this will become the 00:10 am random channel change when we go back to GMT in October.

i dunno, but another smooth BBCi Performance in belfast for the proms, i just did GCSE music, and this would have been great, as it really went in depth with Aural Perception, and would have really helped me with the course. Well at least i have it for AS-Level now ... great stuff BBC and ntl:

Just like to say, it looks good for the bridges, as on langley, up until this week, if we hit red on BBC three or Four, we just got "no enhnaced content" only now it brings up the old BBCi menu we had before the bridge on 1 and 2, and BBC THREE tells you about proms and to turn to BBC 1 or 2

Re: [Merged] CR3-Feedback & Questions in Here Please.
May I ask that in the next release of software that the mini guide actually becomes mini because at the moment it isn't. There really is no need for it to stretch from one side of the screen to the other.
Perhaps it could be moved up a fraction aswell because widesreen views in the 'Smart' mode (or equivilent) lose some it. Here is what a mini guide should look like...
Thought this make a change from complaining about all the bugs in the software

Re: [Merged] CR3-Feedback & Questions in Here Please.
Im just wondering but in the guide, if you go 24 hours ahead, on langley does it change the mini-view (or whatever that remote calls it) to front row 107?
VERY annoying...it also defeats the idea of the mini-view

Yes, that is very annoying when i want to watch the program I am actually on and also wish to browse another day of listings. I hope some sort of service pack is released for it.

There is actually a very good technical reason as to why this happens... if you read around this forum, or even the more helpful Digital Spy, you'll discover that. However, I guess you guys just want to bitch about it, so go for it.....

Or....how about you just tell us, rather then sending us to hunt round for it...

Re: [Merged] CR3-Feedback & Questions in Here Please.
Basically the digital channels are lumped together into streams which carry a number of different channels. Every stream has todays guide info in it.
The full 3 day listings are only carried on 1 stream to save space so when you try to get information the box has to go onto another stream which removes the mini-tv.

The fact that so many people find the behaviour annoying or think that it means something is wrong with the mini-view indicates that ntl: should do something about it. While it may not be technically possible to keep the current channel in view, switching to Front Row is completely unintuitive. I doubt many users will understand why it's happening and they shouldn't have to hunt around here or DS for an unsatisfactory answer. At the very least this sort of information should be in the Help.

Re: [Merged] CR3-Feedback & Questions in Here Please.
well yeah.... i dont really understand what you want them to do...rather than showing front row would you rather they have a green screen saying "tomorrows tv guide is carried on 1 stream"
first of all : HOW BORING!!
Second of all : who would understand that?!

What's boring got to do with it? Obviously if you put up some cryptic message about streams then that's not going to help. There have been plenty of posts where people claim that there's a bug in the mini-view only to be told that it is "intentional." If something that is intentional is interpreted as a problem by users then clearly something is wrong. On receiving the L3.1 upgrade my first reaction was that it was a bug, and I posted as such earlier on this thread ( Post #107). A message along the lines of "Mini-view is only available for today's programme listings" would have made it clear that, regardless of the technical gubbins, the mini-view is intentionally turned off. As I said earlier, it should at least be explained in the help.

Re: [Merged] CR3-Feedback & Questions in Here Please.
I dont know why everybody is coming down like a ton of bricks...i was only stating something, not demanding for it to be fixed.
This is a forum...to discuss views. I was not born knowing that the future guide is carried on another stream, and neither have i trolled the forums from day one.
Anyway, thanks dezzo for clearing it up

Re: [Merged] CR3-Feedback & Questions in Here Please.
Sky don't have a mini tv on their guide for this very reason. It's more customer focused and avoids this sort of question.
